Edelbrock Long Tubes

Has anyone bought theses headers? The stepped headers with merge collectors, not the shorties. Any track and dyno numbers? thanks, kyle

There have been posts here and there, pics here and there, but no big rush to get them.
The folks that do post always seem happy.
Personally I think they are awesome. I have some pics d'loaded and they look good installed too.
They are top of my list, but I would like to hear more first hand about them too.

Yeah...

Almost nobody is unhappy with certain cheaper headers...
Namely Hooker, Pacesetter, Jet-Hot, and Edelbrock...
Why pay 3-5 times as much for a set?

I just installed a set of the Edelbrocks and I will have to say they are one sweet set of headers! Stepped LT's w/ merge collectors for under $400?!?! As far as install, took 15 min to have both bolted up! 5 min on passenger side and 10 on drivers!

Edelbrocks are awesome

Mine are going in next week. Waiting on the Ypipe from Edelbrock.

It is nice to get a great set of headers without getting raped on them!

since its stepped from 1 3/4 to 1 7/8 does that mean you need a high horsepower or big cube engine for them?

No they don't. Infact you have to have the collectors, O2 bungs, and the reducer welded on. The O2 extensions, gaskets, EGR and AIR stuff come with them.

Got a set of these Edelbrock headers with the Y-pipe. They installed easily, do not leak around the merge collectors and there is no resonance at all with the system. Will be going to the dyno in the next couple of weeks so I will find out how much they make with a mild cam and ported heads.

How much did it cost to get the collectors, O2 bung, and reducer welded on? What size is the collector? 3.5"? I guess the reducer is a 3.5"->3"? Can this be done before the install starts? Or do you have to do a preliminary install and then find out where the collectors need to go? These seem more and more interesting. Wonder if they would perform OK on a stock head and cam car with ture duals.........
