Default Trans dipstick in my way for ls6 mani swap(pic)

Looking under my hood for any problems im gonna run into swapping out my ls1 manifold on my '00 camaro ss for the ls6 before the weekend and just noticed something. The last 2 bolts, more so the last bolt on the passenger side for the manifold is being blocked by the trans dipstick tube.

For a second I tried to see if i could bend it but stopped cause i dont wanna break it. Can it be bent without breaking anything?

It's 10mm? I think I used a gear wrench. It's kind of a pain

I think it was a 7mm, but yeah its a bitch! I used an open end wrench... 1/8th turn at a time.

I wouldn't bend the tube because then it's a pain to feed the dipstick back thru, you would be surprised how much a difference a slight bend in those things make lol. Your best bet is to get a gear wrench like stated before and take your time. I bought a set of Dewalt gear wrenches because they are made slightly longer and sleeker than most and are nice for tight spaces like these.

I used a 7mm socket on a 1/4" ratchet.. just enough clearance to fudge the tube aside to remove it easily

How long would you say it will take me to get the ls6 mani swap done?
Also any tricks to sliding it out or back in because of that dipstick? i know all about not breaking the oil pressure sensor.

put the back 4 bolts in before hand and hold them up with a rubber band

Well guys...I got it done in about 3 1/2 hours today. Found out i broke my damn oil pressure sending unit after i had no oil pressure. Man am i pist because i went through great lengths to not break it and believe i snapped it putting the intake back on.

Is there anyway at all to change the SOB without removing the mani?

Aww yeah I broke mine too Anyways I think I changed mine before installing it but if you have the right sized socket extension, use the oil pressure sending socket installer, and have smallish forearms then you should be able to remove and install it while intake is installed.
