Default Header install gain?

I have gone back and forth about getting a cam/header install on my 00 WS6...Would it be worth it just to get a nice set of headers and dyno tune? Not looking to out run everything on the road, just a little more power than stock...I may later on go ahead and do a cam/spring install with tune, but is it worth it just to do headers with tune?

it is if your looking for more sound. otherwise, the power gains
will be negligible, when comparing a full head / cam upgrade.

headers, free flowing exhaust, and a tune will be worth ~30 rwhp and sound a lot better

Def will not be changing heads, even if I do the cam install. I have a Flowmaster cat back on there now, so Im pleased with the sound. Just curious to if I would see any gain with just the headers and Dyno tune...I would think with a good tune I could pick up a little more performance than the factory tune.

That's what I thought also Thunder...We do not have emission testing here so I will be deleting the cat also...I don't think anyone in our county has cats on an older vehicle...or some of the newer ones either.

FYI the flowmaster catback is one of the more restrictive exhausts for ls1 cars due to the crossflow design.

But if you like the sound you like the sound, nothing wrong with that. But there are better flowing systems which will get you more HP.

I may see if I can find out what series the muffler is, and see if I can find one comparable in sound...Just has that deep growl that I like...not the raspy, popping sound like I have heard on others...

Just headers and a tune will be worth it in terms of a nice bump in power and a more aggressive sound

Doing headers is the 1st step in building a NA/Nitrous/Supercharged engine. If you plan on doing a cam upgrade later on, do headers and a tune now. You can't build a building without a solid foundation, although a lot of people try.
