Default Water Temp Guage

Does anyone know where to get a fitting from so that I can hook up my temp guage? I pulled the plug out of the head and nobody had a fitting to fit it. Is there any other place that I can hook it up that would be easier?

Put the sender in the block right above the starter. You will need an M16x1.5 adapter that you can get at Summit or Jegs. It's really easy to access too.

Thanks for the quick replies. I called autometer and ordered a fitting from them. I'm going to try that first. I couldn't see the place above the starter. I'm going to look somemore though when I get more time to.

I have another question though, I also got a air/fuel guage that I can't get to work. I followed my 02 sens wires up to the drivers side fuel rail and connected my signal wire for the A/F to the purple wire with a white tracer. And nothing happen. I have power and ground at the guage but I don't know how to check for a signal there. I've also checked my connections and they seemed to be all good. Any ideas???

You have to remove the starter to get to the plug where you put in the sender. It's hard to see otherwise. And out of curiosity, why did you get a water temp gauge, when you already have one in the factory gauge cluster?

For the A/F gauge, I don't know why it isn't working. I trust you started the car to check if it works? Which O2 sensor did you tap it off of? Are you positive that you spliced into the right wire? There are two violet wires in the same bundle, one is smaller(from O2 sesnor) and one is larger(from starter).

The reason I got an water temp was that I wanted a tripple pod and i needed one more guage to finish it off and I heard that the factory water guage was off a little. I had planned to get an fuel pressure but I didn't want to put that much $$$ into one.

I tapped into the drivers side upstream o2. There aretwo purple wires in that bundle: 1 just purple, and the other is purple with an white tracer. I followed that one with the tracer up from the O2. Do I need to go to the other side?

Sounds like you got the wire, as long as you spliced into the smaller of you two violet wires. If it doesnt work, then you have made some bad connections or have a bad gauge. How did you splice into the violet wire? Did you use a little blue splicing clamp?

No, I didn't use a splicing clamp for that one. I soldered it first, but now I've cut it back out and reconnected the line. I'm going to get one of those clamps tomorrow. Thanks for the help.
