AC blows hot when car is stopped
The system works great until I come to a stop, then it stops blowing cold air until I start moving forward again. I thought it might be the fans not turning on, so I grabbed a flashlight and checked. Yep, they are running! Does anyone know what else could cause the system to stop blowing cold air when the car comes to a stop other than the fans not working???
This problem is not for my TransAm, this is for a 2006 Acura TSX. I've posted the issue on a TSX forum, but don't have much confidence in their ability to help me out.

There is an LSx "unsteady idle" criterion which will shed the
A/C compressor load, if the PCM thinks so. Whether Acura
has anything like this, I couldn't say. Is the A/C compressor
clutch engaging at idle?

You simply need to check your ac pressures, and check to see if the compressor is running. Also, if you spray the condensor with water and the ac blows cool again youve got a clogged condenser or condenser fan that isnt functioning like it should. Thats where id start.

Definitely not a fan issue, they are running fine. I did notice that at a stop, if I put the car in neutral and bring the rpm's up just a little (to about 1K) the air starts blowing cold. As soon as I let off the throttle, the cold air is gone. I haven't noticed if the compressor engages at idle; I'll pay attention to that tomorrow. I haven't had the pressure checked. If I have time to do that this weekend, I will.

If everything is clean, & fans working, it sounds like the system is low on freon. Could be other things. As stated, get some gauges on there & check the pressures.
