catch can pvc hook up, car wont run
Hey guys, like the title says, with the catch can hooked up for the throttle body to suck in the engine fumes from the valley cover, the car wont run. I un hooked it and the car fired right up. Am I missing something? This is the LS6 valley cover with the port in the front routed to a catch can, and then to the throttle body. Do I need a breather or something like that on the catch can?

I have a catch can that is sealed with no breather on it. I ran a line from the LS6 valley cover to the catch can and from the catch can to the throttle body without any problems. If you install a breather filter on your catch can you will need a check valve. Without a check valve unmetered air will get into the intake track. You may try swapping the lines around on the catch can.

ok thanks guys. I tried swapping the hoses and got the same results, wont run. So if I put a check valve in, which side do I put it on? the line from the valley cover to the can or can to TB?

Mine is basically the same setup. When I get home after work tonight I'll take pictures. It's as if there's too much of vacuum and this is putting a negative pressure on the crankcase choking off the vacuum for the throttle body. The lines are not blocked or kinked because I I tested it to make sure I was escaping the fumes from the crank.

So I think I figured out my problem. The blade in the throttle body is staying closed so the engine is not getting any air in except for through the vacuum port on the throttle body. So I have to figure that out

Did you take your TB apart for any reason? If that blade isn't put in just right it will still mount to the TB cam but it won't turn. It took me a little while to get mine on just right. Be careful not to strip the bolt holes.
