Default Help! Need advise on choosing exhaust

I posted on the Gen IV section and didn't have many luck with the replies then I noticed I had posted in the wrong section.

Okay so I have a completely stock LS1 Camaro A4. I just want it as a bolt on car, I don't wanna go with internal mods.

I plan on getting LTs w/catted Y-pipe, Air lid, UD pulley, mail order tune by Frost and possibly a stall in the near future.

Which catback is gonna be the best sounding with 1 3/4 American racing long tubes and catted y-pipe. The less rasp the better, I just want it to have a nice tone at idle and wot.

Which catback is gonna be the best sounding with the stock manifolds and y-pipe?
Again, I want a nice tone without rasp.

Thanks.

What muffler and/or catback that will sound best with stock headers may not sound best with long tube headers . Have you considered that possibility?

Correct, I asked that question as well.
So I want to know which catback will sound nice with LTs and catted y-pipe.
And also which catback will sound nice with the stock manifolds and y-pipe.

What sounds good to one person may not sound good to another. With that said I like the Loudmouth 1 on a stock header and catted y pipe setup. With long tubes i'd still get something aggressive since you'll be running cats. Maybe like a LM2, Borla, Magnaflow, etc...

I thought Loudmouth 1 was more aggressive than Loudmouth 2. Well that's what I've read on the forum from people's experiences.

What about Corsa exhaust, do you have any experience with that catback?

I like how Borla sounds, would it be much of a problem if I go with CME? Since the rear passenger side pipe is like a y-pipe next to the muffler and the tips being welded and not clamped like other catbacks

The LM1 is more aggressive which is why it would be more suitable with stock headers. Corsa is a great one as well, almost forgot that. Not too familiar with the CME to be honest.

I run a MagnaFlow 14419 Bullet muffler with long tubes and ORY, and it's pretty loud, but with a smooth deeper type sound. I bet it would sound very deep with a catted y pipe

Oh I understand now.
If you were to personally run ARH LTs, catted y-pipe like I plan to, which catback would you choose out of the ones named above?

I was going to ask if you had a clip of the exhaust but I remembered that you're Heads/Cam which gives a different exhaust note compared to a bolt on car

If I go with the loudmouth I'm going to keep the stock manifolds and y-pipe so it could keep the noise down.
I like how the Borla adjustable catback sounds but I dislike the tips and i believe they're welded to the system.
I really like how GMMG sounds, do you know if I can still get this system new?

And not that I know of lol. Checo is the nickname for Sergio.

GMMG is just a mad hammer exhaust, which I believe is still available.

mostly stock engine... i would use a stock exhaust and save for the turbocharger.

A turbo is a "bolt on" as are injectors and so forth... and you can keep the engine very quiet using a turbo while also producing 30-50% additional power (more than you will get from modifying the exhaust system with some noisy plumbing)

A good street car with a stock bottom end engine will look like this:
tune-up
transmission mods (stall/shift kit)
gearing to match street duty
turbocharger

end result can be a quiet vehicle in the 500bhp range; no need for noise

So it's some sort of knockoff?

No: if I remember correctly MadHammer manufactured the exhaust for GMMG. I'm not sure if they still have the same tips, but the guts of the system should be exactly the same.

I took a look and I think they don't offer the oval tips anymore.
Would you happen to know if I can get my stock Z28 tips to fit an aftermarket cat-back?
I don't like how other tips look on Camaros other than Z28 and CME tips.

With effort you could make anything work.... But in willing to bet the stock tips had a smaller diameter tubing, so you'd likely need a reduction fitting.

It wouldn't hurt to ask if he still has the oval tips. For some reason he has two sets of websites: one shows the tips still available.

For a CME, I know 6 liter eater sells several varieties which may be easier to fit up.

Correct, I think the stock tailpipes for the Z28 are 2.25 inches.

Do you have the link to both websites?
