Default Is a gap between upper and lower FAST 92MM okay?

I have just replaced the upper to lower internal seal for my FAST 92mm. I have a gap in the center of the manifold, but a good seal around the bolts that secure the upper to the lower. Is this normal? The seal is PN 146005 from FAST. The RTV that you see is for the joints in the rope seal. I just assume that the middle will seat down better when I bolt the manifold up to the motor. Thanks in advance.

Short answer is no, however, the intake bolts will clamp the upper down when you install. You need to be sure that the orange seal is correctly seated throughout before installing.

I have pressed and pressed on this rope seal and cannot get the top to set flush with the bottom. It is a little frustrating.

Is it just on the one side of both? It should sit level and even unless it's somehow warped or there is an object (gasket) sitting in the way.

Mine looked the same when I rebuilt it. So I bolted it all together with shorted nuts and bolts before I installed it.

I just sat the top 1/2 on a flat surface. There is a slight bow in the middle on both sides, but it only takes a little pressure from my hand to seat it flat. That should be okay with the mounting when I set it on top of the heads I would guess. Thanks for the input guys.

I'm about to do the same with my 102. In what spots did you place RTV? Just where the rope seal ends meet?

After a couple of attempts to make everything seat properly with no leaks, I ended up trimming off about 1/4 of the rope seal. I just put rtv where the seals meet. I didn't put any rtv on it until I was ready to set the manifold on the heads and bolt everything in place all at once. So far, no gap after torquing down to specs and no leaks.
