Default Egr hose removal

Hi Team,

Just wondering how to remove this line as you see it "Ts" off and runs to another hose into some sort of vacuum or pump by the fog light on the driver sight

If you are doing a egr delete that hose that runs to the air pump in the bumper as well as the pump can go bye bye

You will get a check engine light for the missing pump, but it will not affect anything. Your tuner can remove this light permanently.

If the car has to pass OBD-2 emissions scan/testing, it will probably fail with the deleted EGR system and the EGR function deleted in the PCM. Not sure if that would be an issue for the OP or not.

I live in Toronto, so we need to pass emissions.

But like above ^^^ cant the tuner tune it out the system? or cant I also always do emissions under the table lol.

Some of pass or fail will depend on the type of emissions testing that's done. Tail pipe testing, visual check for emissions devices, dyno test or obd2 scan are commonly used or have been commonly used. I don't know Toronto's procedures.

Here is a good article that described the obd2 process and how works and gives details.

Aren't the pictures I posted for the AIR SYSTEM, and not the EGR system?

Two separate systems?

Don't I have to keep the AIR SYSTEM, and remove the EGR which is already removed.

I believe EGR would need to stay in place while AIR could go, at least where I am at. EGR plays a constant role in recirculating exhaust gasses, while AIR only operates at initial startup to help heat your cats.

hmm, well I am removing the EGR because I have picked up a LS6 intake manifold and it does not come with the provisions for the egr to go into like the LS1 intake manifold 98-00 I believe.

Plus the egr just restricts airflow going right down the middle of your manifold. I also do not like how it reuses the exhaust gasses.

But that's just my opinion

I think most of us feel the same way. On the other hand, your emissions station will frown at your lack of EGR and could fail you for that alone.

yeah you are right..

But you can always tune this out and remove the timing tables for the EGR.

Or you can also always do the emissions under the table lol.
