SLP and ZO6 MAF interchangeable?
no they are not. the slp is a bolt on upgrade for 98-00 cars and 01-02 cars separately. they are separate because of different intakes, cams, and injectors. in the slp there is a resistor in the actual metering part of the maf that tricks the computer into thinking that 'x' amount of air is still flowing through a stock maf. all that does in-turn is allow more air to enter the engine with the 85mm slp maf without adding more fuel based upon the fuel mapping of the stock ecu, so it then leans out the fuel mixture to allow for a more complete burn because the stock fuel mapping is very rich.
the stock 85mm z06 or truck maf is a 5 wire maf which means that the air temp sensor and maf sensor or together in one housing rather then being separate like the f cars wich are three wire maf's and cannot be run the stock 85mm maf is not a direct bolt on swap and will cause the car to run like crap and the ecu will need to be re-flashed with a tuner in order for it to be ran.

Cut out the resistor added to the SLP MAF and they are the same. Easy to do with a small pair of diagonal cutters. Although I believe the Z06 doesn't have a screen. And they are no different than the 85mm MAF used on thousands of trucks.

a Z06 work with the stock tune by duplicating what
SLP did. I have done so, and in one case substituted
a trim-pot for screwdriver tweakability (but with the
tuning software, this is not useful and without, you'd
want some way of telling mixture).

you fuel system rich codes in short order (tried it).

Verdad Gallardo any links to this? as far as know the only way to use a stock 85mm maf is the slp or granatelli way (i think they are the same). other then that you have to have the pcm retuned to get the maf and fuel mixture tables correct.

So with the codes deleted, the engine will run normal, but with the codes still showing the engine tries to make up the difference? How bad is it to drive on these bolt on type mods with the SES still on?
My SES light has been on since I bought the car and I just posted the codes in the Tuning Section. Theyre for the "Secondary Air Injection (P0410) and Secondary AIR Inject System Banks 1 & 2 (P1415 & P1416), and Cylinder 5 Misfire/Multiple Misfires (P0305 & E0300)".

that misfire is bad. you should get that checked out pronto. other then that maybe somebody who knows obd2 better then me can chime in. i am not sure if those codes will cause the pcm to stay in open loop or closed loop. of it goes into closed loop then its fine to drive on cause then the pcm is adjusting fueling mixture based upon maf, map, 02, tps, iat, and cooling temp sensors. open loop is just a base value that the pcm runs on and is not best for performance.

Yeah. Im hoping its a plug or wire. Like I said, the car runs fine. No noticeable misses. I was surprised it even threw that code. These codes are also not live codes. Just codes a guy at Oreillys was able to read off.

I know a misfire is bad. Im just saying it hasnt caused any noticeable issues. Ive read about misfires and a lot of people are talking about "bucking" and "jerking", none of which happens in my car.
that is just the adapter harness to run a 85mm maf in a fbody cuz the fbody maf and iat sensor is seperate so its a 3 wire maf. the 85mm maf is a 5 wire since the iat is integrated into the sensor. im pretty sure that adapter isnt a plug and play swap to a 85mm stock maf without any tuning iirc...
