Default Need to Relocate IAT - but need a new IAT

I have a TSP 100mm MAF... but I'm running an SD tune. And with the LS3 card style MAF, I'm using the IAT built in... but it heat soaks like a SOB.

I want to relocate to the fender. What's a good IAT to run? I'll just plug the MAF housing from TSP as my intake tract was built around it. And it works fine for that. I just don't like sitting in traffic and watching my temps go 30-40 degrees over ambient or hot lapping at the track and it going even higher. As soon as I start moving, the temps drop to ambient. So the air going into the motor isn't that hot. It's just the aluminum coupler is getting hot as **** and warming up the LS3 sensor until fresh air rushes over it.

Any ideas? I found what looks like the OE IAT... the Delphi TS10072. Or going to a screw in type IAC.

Just ordered a GM 25036751. Those are the fast response screw in type IATs. I'll use it on the Intercooler Piping down the road. For now, I'll just relocate it somewhere.

I installed mine on the plastic shroud just bellow the hood latch. Really helped my cars idle consistency. Been there for years with no troubles.

The iat in the LS3/7 blade style maf im using was not compatible with the 0411 ecm I'm using, somehow it was out of range. So I'm using a ACDELCO fbody replacement further up the CAI maf trasfer, using a small harness adaptor, works well.

That's a good spot. Ordered it with a 12" harness extension. I didn't want a 24" because it'll be too long. Hope the 12" extends. I eyeballed it and it looked about like a foot to somewhere in that region.

This thread reminded me that I've been meaning to experiment with the omega 44005 thermistor modified f-body IAT. So I tracked down the omega part and they want $16 plus $12 shipping. Then $14 for the stock sensor. So I ordered one already modified from bohnman for $56 shipped. I'm building a new cold air / ram air system for my Cutlass and I'm going to stick it in the filter coupler and the filter is going in front of the radiator.

I got the IAC last night. It's a fast response screw-in type.

I bought a 12" harness extension to mount it... but it's not really long enough to clear things. So I should have got a 24" harness (since it's like $15 from Ballenger where I got the sensor). So I'll wait until I get that one to see. But the 24" will let me mount before the radiator cleanly.

I relocated mine in the rubber coupler connecting the TB to the lid.
