Default suggestions..trueduals not loud enough

i have true duals, no cats, 2.5" with an X pipe, 18" dynomax race bullets. this system sounds really good but isn't loud enough for my taste. i had a local shop custom bend my duals, they did a good job however its not madrel(spelling?) bent. i was wondering what other (affordable) muffeling agent could i use that would be louder but still sound awesome. also i was considering just taking out the bullets and just replacing it with piping, who do yall think that would sound, i know it would be loud but i dont know about the tone and 'quality' of how it'd sound. one more thing encase anyones thinking about it, cutouts are too loud for me (for everyday use that is) thanks

Let me get this straight - you have LT's, 2.5" true duals w/ 18" dynomax bullets, and it's not loud enough? You must be half deaf, I had an 18" bullet in my I-pipe - "dynomouth", w/ no cats and stock manifolds. It was unbearable to me.I think I would get 12" bullets before I'd run no mufflers at all if this is a street driven car. Just my $.02

In your case that would be removing the mufflers. I don't think that there's anything out there louder than a bullet other than no muffler at all.

Maybe try 12" bullets. If that doesn't help, just run straight pipes. Or remove the entire exhaust and just run open headers.

does anyone know how straight pipes would sound on my set up? like would it sound awesome or just plain loud like some guy who took the muffler off of his old pickup. i love for it to be loud but for it to sound good to is important.

Are you out in the country or something.. Where are the cops..

I think that if you have a x-pipe and cam with no muffler it should sound pretty good.

But if you're just running straight pipes with no crossover.. It my just be loud and sound like ***.

You are smoking crack, that setup should be loud enough to be scaring old ladies to death and making babies cry.

Try the 12 inch bullet mufflers. Or have you considered the H-pipe.

Maybe if you went with the 3" duals instead of the 2.5" it would be louder.Start doing engine mods.Who wants to be loud and slow. Not saying your car is slow but I know how loud my 3" x-pipe to 3" dual bullets are .It's too loud at W.O.T You might be lossing power cause you haven't done any engine mods yet.Too much free flowing exhaust can hurt performance on low mod cars.Dyno's dont lie.Save up and do a cam.You could do it your self if you take your time and read all the instructions. You could print the instuctions from LS1howto.com I did my H&C with no problems and never worked on a LS1 before. To do the cam all you have to do is pull your balancer pully, timing chain, and valve covers.Your intake can stay on.loosen up your rockers, pull your push rods, put your timing chain bolts in the cam and spin it in the engine 3 times then start pulling it forward spinning it and it's out. There's some other steps too but it's not as hard as you think

Loud and slow? Sounds like a GT with exhaust!

I'm lost here - you want louder than true duals, but cutouts are too loud?

Louder?! Have you considered a jet engine?

Removing the muffs will make it a little louder, but probably not enough to impress you, not to mention you'll probably get arrested. Straight pipes also have a different type of sound that you might not like. I'm with the cam guys. The cam will make you much louder and give you the power to back it up. They only cost around $400, which should be a bargain compared to your duals.

Your exhaust is about as loud as they get. At this point, if you want to be louder, you need a cam or more HP... Unless you have a great sound system and a CD of "Top 10 reving LS1s, reving the night away"
