Default Belt / pulley squeal!!!

To start off with this is my first post to this page. Last year I bought an 02 ss with an LSA blower on top. It had a small squeal every once in a while but it went away. Now when I drive about a mile or 2 and slow down for a stop sign or stop light it squeals very loudly. First to get replaced was the idler pulley...no luck...popped off the seals on the pulley and added grease to the bearing...no luck...The confusing part is that it will go away if I give it gas. This made me believe it was the tensioner afterwards so I replaced it...no luck. I tried to pull over when it does it but it stops which pisses me off. Also bought a quiet belt (used to be from goodyear) from continental...no luck...HELP!!! (car has no AC so it cant be that belt)

If you mean the pump being the same distance from the block as the other pumps, then yes its the same distance. All the pumps were replaced when the motor was redone with the LSA blower added to it

yep, my guess too

there is a tool to check pulley alignment.
i didnt believe it could be a problem until it happened to me. PS pulley not on far enough...like .065" and it'd squeal like the guy in Deliverance

Default Bearings

Sounds like bad bearings to me. Replace the idler pulleys. Or if you know how to you can check them first. Lubing bad bearings won't do much good.

I had already replaced the idler pulley. The problem was still there even after adding more grease to the bearings. The pulley doesnt have any play in it as well...

I found the red laser online to check the pulleys. Just didnt want to spend the 100 bucks on it

I've re-greased countless idler and tensioner pulleys over the years, and they never seem to last. I'd just replace them both and see what happens.
