E3 spark plugs as good as they claim? i have been seeing alot about these new E3 spark plugs. they claim more power and better fuel economy. sounds good but most things like this are a waist of money. has anyone tried these plugs or heard the stories and the hype?my car is in need of some new plugs and i was going to just replace the NGKs but if i can get a few more poneys out of E3s y not?

I hope they're good plugs because I just ordered some last night! I've put them in 2 cars, a 3.4 GM V6 and a 3.8 and both seem to run smoother and get better gas milage/power but i have no dyno test to prove it... could have been the low-resistance spark plug wires too. The NGKs are probably more reliable though.

i saw a dyno test on hp tv they gained power on the test motor and used less fuel. but it was an ols school 383 i believe kinda wondering what they would do on a modded LS motor. i have not herd of anyone running them on an LS yet

They have been around for several years now. They are good plugs as far as they do provide efficient combustion. I have a trial set in my VW DD that were originally installed in my DD Buick. No negative issues to report. You can create a similar effect by drilling the ground strap below the electrode on your NGK's. I do this as well.

Yes, drill hole in the ground strap directly below the electrode, ish. It keeps a portion of the cornel from being blocked by the ground strap & provides an additional edge for the spark to find. The E3 does the same thing through a bigger hole & with more edge area. Yeah, it's the same principle. Difference is about $4-$6 per plug. Can send it to me if you wish.

Pfffffffft, It's an old timers racing modification. It's been done forever. It does improve combustion & it's very simple to do. I also have done it for years. Got the E3's for free when they came out a few years ago. The E3 is a good plug & does improve combustion; so does drilling the ground strap.

i have been watching some of the stuff on TV and articles in a magazine and i just thought they would be smiler to the bosh +2 and +4 spark plugs. But any ways a buddy of mine has ordered them for his lt1 car and i guess ill see how well they work.

although on my 5.0 fox body i have they seemed to pick the cars pace up a good bit, definatly felt it in the seat of my pants if you follow what i mean.

ive had some sitting on my parts shelf for my camaro for like 4 months but i dont wanna replace my ngk's just to find out its gonna f--- things up and then im gonna have to go through this mess all over again lol
although on my 5.0 fox body i have they seemed to pick the cars pace up a good bit, definatly felt it in the seat of my pants if you follow what i mean.

i got the E3 as a gift with a set of Taylor wires and i unwillingly replaced my NGKs with them.
I too was paranoid from all the horror stories with them. After a lot of reading it seems like they get damaged in shipping so if you get a good set you all good.
Mine were from Summit and run flawless. I give them a thumbs up

We sell them, have had a lot of warranty issues! LS trucks are seeing hairline cracks in the porcelin and arcing out against the cylinder heads. Some vehicles miss at idle. I've ignored them at trade shows for years, should have stuck with my first instincts!
