leak from exhaust

Default leak from exhaust

installed my SLP Y pipe, got it bolted up, and now I get water coming out where the cat converter pipe meets the Y pipe. Just a few drops, but still, don't know if that is going to cause issues (mainly for annual vehicle inspection)

Head gasket?? Or SEVERE condensation.....

one thing I forgot to mention the leak was not there when I had the OEM Y pipe on.

Water is not an exhaust issue! Do you run coolant or straight water in the radiator? Can you tell whether it's coolant or water dripping from the exhaust?

Water can most definitely come from the exhaust. It's called condensation. Look at a car that's been started first thing in the morning on a chilly day and you will see water dripping out of the muffler.

Some mufflers even come with a little hole drilled in it to drain water so it doesn't sit in there and rust the muffler from the inside out.

Not when it's dripping straight out of the catalytic converter. Condensation happens when exhaust cools thru a cold full-length exhaust. You will never see water dripping from a manifold or header. Not enough "space" to cool and condense moisture.

Water dripped from my 69 Camaro exhaust before I sealed up the leak right after the header. If I open the cutout water will come out. Car does not have a coolant leak.

Also had water drip out of the headers of my 98 Camaro with a sbc before I put my exhaust on.

I could be wrong but both cars definitely do not have any type of coolant leaks

The only way that might happen is if the header/converter had condensation in it after a cool night, and it blew out upon startup. Exhaust is too hot coming out of the engine for any liquid moisture to form so close to the engine.
