All,
I finally put different mufflers in place of the bullets. Ended up with Dynomax UltraFlo SS mufflers.
Here are the pics that a local guy did for me @ 850 Fabrication.
I'll get some videos posted. It's about 10db quieter outside the car and 5db quieter inside. It drones earlier in the RPM range and later. So there's still more to be done. But it's deeper...

I'll get some tomorrow.
It has a tone now. With just bullets it sounds sort of raspy and just loud. Now it's loud and deep with tone. Much cleaner sounding. But I'm going to add the bullets back in to help with drone and reduce the interior resonance a little more.

Jake, are you on your phone? I get a lot of weird characters in your posts. Or are you out of the country?
And as far as lowered... yeah I'm lowered down. There's not a lot of room. I scrape a lot. I have two hangars on the passenger side, so when I went to install the Speed Eng mid-hangar... turns out I couldn't pull it up any higher. It was already as high as it would go...
And it still scrapes.
But that area with the connector brace from Kooks right before the axle is the best place to add the bullets. Really the only place with room. I'd prefer it before the X-Pipe... but the bullets there actually would take some resonance out.
And the bullets and the ultra flos are all straight thru design... so essentially zero performance loss.

So after a few heat cycles with the new cans, I used my SPL meter to get some readings once warmed up with 60F ambient temps:
idle @ 850 - 73db
cruise @ 1700 (50mph) 77db
cruise @ 2000 (60mph) 80db
cruise @ 2400 (70mph) 87db
cruise @ 2800 (80mph) 82db
So, it's worse at 70, but otherwise it's a solid 5db better everywhere else. And it's a more mellow sound that's deeper.
So if I can get rid of the drone at 1400-1500 and at 2400... it would be pretty pleasant.
One thing I think that hurts is the canisters (whether the bullets or anything else in that location) is it uses the hatch well as a reverberation chamber. So I'm going to be putting a layer of second skin mat all in there to see if I can curb the drone some.

old thread I know, but can somebody tell me the size of the dynomax ultraflos in the first post? I'm wondering if I can install 6" or 5" round magnaflow mufflers on my tsp system out the back.

They come in many different sizes. Go on the Summit site and search for Dynomax Ultraflo SS. Lots of sizes to choose from.

Looks like the number 17267 stamped into the case. That part number on Summit says they 6" x 12".
