Default Help with installing speed engineering true duals

I for the life of me cannot get the driver's side wideband tube to connect into the x pipe correctly. It always seems off kilter for some reason. I don't like how the connection point is so close to the bend in the wideband pipe.
If anyone has installed this kit and can give me some pointers for installation I would greatly appreciate it. Maybe im just doing something stupid. Pics below.

This is how it looks when I try to get it installed. It just doesn't look right.

In regards to the close up pic; is that as far you can get the two connected? If so try to wiggle the male end so that it widens the inlet side. The inlet side might be pinched a little, check the gaps in the relief cuts.

No it goes in further when not connected to any other pipes but the arrangement of the other pipes inhibits it's ability to go in anymore during install.

I had to muscle mine in, coming from the LTs into the X pipe. I started at the LTs and worked everything else in from there. I had to remove different pipes and reinstall a few times before I was able to get the fitment right. Mark ur pipes so you know where they slide in completely that way you can slide in partials and then the rest when you get the X slipped on. Just play with it, you'll get it. What typ of LTs do you have??

It's the speed engineering LTS as well. I guess it's just harder than I thought it would be laying on concrete with limited space. I guess I'll just wait until I have an extra set of hands

Exhaust is always a pain in the ***. A rubber mallet helps. Being on the ground definitely makes it harder.

Try doing it different ways. It's been a while but if I remember right it was easier to put the drivers side all together well and then pull on the system over to the passenger side header and then tap the system forward with a rubber mallet or fight it forward.

Well I got it all in there. The damn thing still needs adjustments. I'm just gonna make it the exhaust shops problem when I get them to put my CME tips on it. Lol.
i think I'm just getting to old to feel like doing pain in the *** tasks anymore. I just turned 30 last week and I sure as hell feel like I'm not 20 anymore.

Keep playing with it until you get it where you want it; that’s a lot of faith to leave up to a shop that’s just gonna use the excuse of “ it’s not meant to have 3’’ duals,” as an excuse for any fitment issues they don’t want to mess with. Put it each corner on ramps, that’ll give u plenty of room to maneuver.

How does it sound? Is there any drone inside? I’m pretty sure I saw you driving on southside blvd recently, I doubt there is anyone else around here with the 6le spoiler. Did you have it on then?

Yes I was driving to buy a new truck in the rain. That's the last day I drove it.
As for the exhaust I got it on and started it. It's definitely way louder than the original exhaust. I haven't driven it yet though due to the adjustments needed. I plan to work on it over the weekend to hopefully get it fitting right, then it'll be off to S&S exhaust to put the CME on.

I’m in for pictures with the CME installed! I’ve been putting off installing my TDs because i’m not sure how i will get my CME hooked up to it. Are you using the OEM style CME tips?

30? C'mon man...lol.

But Kooks tds was a pain as well. I had to adjust it 5 or 6 times before it wasn't hitting anything. I used grease on the ends and that helped a lot.

Yes it's gonna be my oem cme tips. I'm just gonna have them Fab up 3 inch pipe to the tips themselves.

Just add 90s off the mufflers and your CME tips to the 90s. I’ll be adding mine shortly but there are a few guys who have already added CMEs to their TD exhaust. There’s a SE true dual thread with a few posts about it.

I'm still doing stuff like this at 67! It is getting harder to get motivated though.

Good to see people still working on their own things. I still like doing it all but I hate the fact I have to do it outside in the driveway in the Floridian heat and humidity. I need a damn garage.

Oh I know i'm preaching to the choir. I ask my father in law how he does it sometimes. He's near 60, and he's an elevator man and does frame off restorations in the evening after work and on weekends. Plus takes care of an acre by himself and is always building fences or repairing the home etc..

OP, when you need to adjust the exhaust loosen the clamps (this would have been best when putting it on but anyway) and then put a jack under the sections you want to be higher and then tighten them. That should help get things where they need to be..
