Anyone have any idea why my air box lid has turned white? This is the second one I have had do this. I haven't used any type of harsh chemicals on it I use only a damp cloth to wipe it off and a little Armor All now and then to shine it up. Nothing else that is plastic under the hood has done this. Reached out to SLP but I haven't heard anything back from them. Need to get a new lid ordered but hate to throw money at another one that is going to do the same thing. Does anyone know of a true carbon fiber lid? I've searched but have come up empty handed.
Yup. Armor All does nothing but dry plastic out and it ends up looking like that.
I hear you on the armor all and I have suspected it but none of the other plastics on the car have done that. I don't use much just a little on the rag to brighten it up.
Yea that ugly lid is ruining your good looking engine bay lol. I like the aluminum fab look on your valve covers, I wonder if there is a matching aluminum "fabbed" lid out there.

Yes it is horrible. Thanks they are a set of Moroso fabbed valve covers that I had textured anodized.I really like the way they turned out..
I found a stamped stainless steel lid on ebay but not sure on the quality or how it would look. I may try to wrap a lid in carbon fiber.
