BG ramair and SSRA questions
BG ramair and SSRA questions can i use these 2 ram air mods at the same time? most people i see have 1 or the other. i have the SSRA already. would using the BG ram air in conjuction with the SSRA be worth it?
This question does pop up every once in a while. I guess no one has tried it yet and posted up their results. I guess they'd rather save their money that they would use for the second ram air kit towards a new mod. The theory that has been thrown around though, is if you have one kit (SSRA for example), you're supposed to seal off the air box so you won't have any air "leaking" out of it. By adding a second ram air kit (opening), you would be creating two passages to the air box, and the air stream that has more pressure (either SSRA or BGRA) would "leak" air out of the other ram air opening. Like I said, this is just in theory.
thanks guys. i might sell the SSRA ( actually the FTRA w/ super sucker scoop) and try the BG ram air. i dont know how much the SSRA helped me out since i did all the mods at once.

umm i believe they would somewhat cancel each other out...i believe the turbelence cause by air entering from two different directions wouldn't help performance...it may even decrease your power output by adding another type of ram air...but that is just my theory...i don't have either one...but it seems logical to me. I don't see how it would be possible to get the full benifits of both because of the leaking of air as stated above
I have the BG Ram Air and am really happy with it. It was one of the first mods I did to my car. 
I've never talked to or heard of anyone who's done both.
Try it out and give us a before and after !

I just got a ws6 air box and did not cut the bottom out for the ftra yet. I am wondering if any of you have actually gained from the ftra over the ws6 hood with the blockages in the hood cutout to be a straight shot. My mph is down a little but that could be from the difference in the heat since I went last with the ftra.

I would like to know something. If you have an SS or WS6, would doing the Free Ram Air Mod slow you down aswell? Hmmm.

The BGRA shows it gains because 1) it seals the air box to the hood, thus not allowing any air to escape out the sides into the engine bay 2) at over 100 mph you will see an immediate increase in performance with the BGRA and thats because it pressurizes the airbox. Over 100 mph your car will pull VERY hard. Cutting out the bottom of the box whether it be for the FTRA,SSRA, or the FRA, would cancel out the seal and pressurization effect. The FTRA, SSRA, and FRA are for the other F-Bodies, while the BGRA is a must have for us WS6 guys. It is probably one of the best bolt ons you can do, and it has shown consistent gains at the track. Anyone that has it loves it. If you have a WS6, get the BGRA.

Well I'm a dumbass and did the FRA mod. I know I'll need a new lower airbox tray since I cut the two squares out of my current one, but will I also need that plastic strip that covers the smaller radiator under the airbox? Or will just a new lower airbox tray be fine? I guess we all learn from our mistakes, and it sucks being in hte process of it.
