Question 4 corner steam kit?

Hey guys. I'm looking at the 4 corner steam kit options. All of the photos and videos I've seen show LS engines either without an intake manifold, or one of the high rise aftermarket ones for LS swaps. I haven't seen any pics of the steam kits installed on motors with the LS1, LS6, or LS2-style intakes. Will these 4 corner steam kit fit under or around the factory-types of manifolds? I'm concerned about the throttle body clearing the front crossover lines. The back crossover should go around the oil press. sensor without any problems.

My LS1 already has the 4 corner cross-over tubes. How are the aftermarket kits any better?

Here's what I have:

A factory ls1 works with an LS6 intake if you shave down the ribs on the bottom. Very easy to do and worth it. The aftermarket stuff looks pretty and prevents having to shave the intake but it functions the same.

If you don't want to shave the intake manifold, You can also just buy the LS6 steam pipe kit when you get your intake manifold. It's not all that expensive. I've seen both options applied to many cars with no ill effects. I've personally never seen the aftermarket 4 point setup, but they look pretty cool on the websites I've seen them on. When I get my new intake for my Vette, I plan to go with the LS6 lines instead of shaving my manifold,

I have a 4-corner one on a LQ9. Fits & works great. Pretty sure it would fit most any intake; it's hose, that runs along the sides, and across the front & back, and has a connection to the TB and on to the recovery bottle like the factory layout. You could either buy a kit or piece it together yourself, it's not exactly rocket surgery.

Pic 1 shows the rear crossover from a 5.3 L and all you have to do is take rubber fuel line and run it to the front.
Pic 2 shows the front crossover without a manifold on.
Pic 3 shows you how to connect the front and rear steam vents.

I am curious, how well dose that work ? I am under the impression that it is there to get the air out of the system. If you have the lines that you ran going up and down like a roller coaster, dose the air get trapped in there ? How dose the air get through the low spots ? Can you watch the line purge with the radiator cap removed ?

That is indeed how mine works. It sputters for a while then a constant stream. I went through a good bit of effort to connect all 4 corners and maintain an incline as to not trap any air.

I think everyone misunderstood what I was asking. Maybe I needed to be more specific. I'm asking about the after-market 4 corner steam kit options, and if they will fit under or around a factory car-style intake manifold (LS1, LS6, LS2, LS3). None of the after-market options show pics or videos of their kits with a factory car-type manifold. I'm thinking there's a reason for that.

I already have the LS6 intake installed. Yes, I already shaved the ribs. I plan on keeping the LS6 intake, but I am wondering if I need a better steam kit. What is so great about the after-market kits that the factory one doesn't do?

Here are the after-market kits I have looked at: https://www.summitracing.com/search?...iAAEgKfmvD_BwE

It's already been answered. If you can fit a stock LS1 4 corner then an aftermarket does nothing for you other than looks.

If the stock steam kit is sufficient, then why is there even a supply of after-market kits? I don't nee my engine bay to look pretty. I just want to make sure the back cylinders don't get too hot. I would like to boost it in the future.

Because you have to beat and shave some intake manifolds to make the stock one fit. The aftermarket stuff goes above/around the intake in most cases.

Ok, now that makes sense. I don't plan on changing my intake again, so I'll just keep my stock steam kit.
