Hi I'm installing my LS1 tomorrow with these engine mounts, I wondering which way is up?
I was thinking the steel in these might abrade the underside of the alloy motor mount on the engine made worse because the surface area on them is greatly reduced compaired to the originals?
I dont know which way they go, probably doesnt really matter, but theres a heat shield between the mount and the aluminum part so i think it doesnt matter about the abrading you are concerned with.

Are you sure that you have genuine mounts??? They don't look right to me; maybe Chinese knock-offs because the welds look very sloppy and they are crooked.

I put mine in the reverse orientation to those shown in link because both top and bottom surfaces were not flat but the smaller surface was the flatter of the two so I put that towards the bottom, I never seen any like those in the link here in Australia, they look like much better quality mine are not genuine GM just a nolathane brand common here. I haven't tightened them fully yet, put engine in today finally.

They look good, I've heard of people using stock one and one poly as one side takes more abuse and it's a nice compromise, can't remember what side, I might do the same.
Just went an measured the poly mounts and they sit 0.40 higher than the stock ones, not sure if this will cause a problem with my header clearance and steering shaft??
