Anyone heard LS1 with fart cannon? I was wondering if anyone has a sound clip or has heard an LS1 with a fart cannon. I've heard that it sounds "exotic and mean" sounds interesting. I'd like to hear it. I heard a dodge ram with a fart cannon and it sounded

I saw a tricked out big block '69 Camaro in Popular Hotrodding Magazine with two them out back. Ever since I saw that, I have been really curious to know what it sounds like. (I wouldn't get one though) I'll try to find a pic.

I have. Didn't sound much different. 4 bangers sound like 4 bangers cuz they are, not cuz of the muffler. Specially designed mufflers can change it around a bit but only so much. The car I heard was an LS1 Firebird with fart cannons in the cutouts on the back. Sounded like a normal loud LS1, maybe a little higher pitched.

Anyone hear a ls1 with 4 whistle tips off a dual dual cb?
Seriously though what is the theory behind the fart cannon? I always thought it was a 4" straight through muffler rigged up to the stock 2" pipe.

aren't "fart cannons" constructed the same way as glass packs or bullets just with an odd inlet/outlet difference (meaning something like 2.5 inch in/ 4.5 inch out)? most import mufflers are made with a 2.5 inch straight through design with X inch surrounding case filled with fiberglass or ceramic...my guess is a v8 with "fart cannons" at the end of the exhaust would have a very similar sound to if you used glass packs or bullet mufflers. all depending on how large the casing is (something like 2.5 inch straight through area with 2 inches of fiberglass/ceramic packing around it).
reguardless, one should leave teh stupidity to the ricers..their cars are slow enough where they can't do too much damage. id hate to see someone stupid enough to do it behind the wheel of a 310+ rwhp camaro or t/a.
