You can make that fit with reducers, i think the stock manifold flange is 2" or 2.25". A cat with the inlet/outlet size you have pictured is more effort because you need to weld on cone reducers to make it work. Just use a dial caliper to get the outside diameter of the current cat, and buy a pair of cats that matches that size. Hand the exhaust shop the cats, and ask them to replace the cats that are on there.
Thanks. I generally wouldn’t sweat a job such as this. But when I started looking at how short the section of pipe is between the cat body and the flanges I got nervous thinking that there wouldn’t be much room for them to work with.

Tomorrow I’m going to call the WS6 store to try to order the sims since I had trouble ordering online. If I’m able to a acquire them I think I’m going to roll the dice one a set of 2.25” diameter “high flows” that I found for $29 each. They’re only 10” long so surely they can make them fit somewhere. $29 cat

If you go this route, will you still remove the exhaust and clean out the original cats so the broken strata wont go down stream and plug the new ones??

The originals would be cut off and the new little ones would welded in their place.
I called and got the o2 simulators ordered. I think the dude might work from home.
I guess when they come in I’ll plug them in to see if they’re going to work and if they do I’ll order the little cats.
I’ve had o2 sims on my car for 20 years now, passed all emissions tests with no issues. Never threw a code.
Man good deal. I’ve passed emissions with those little universal “high flow” cats before in an OBDI car. I think they might have been a little longer than the ten inchers that I’m looking at now though. I guess I ought to crawl under and measure the stock cats to get a rough estimate on how long to go with. But in my minds eye 10” sounds like a good choice. @lees02WS6 I found a thread where a guy measured the pipes right after the cat body and he said they were about 2.” He also said where they merged they were about 2.5.” Should I go with 2.25” or 2.5” cats?

I'm still trying o figure out what a "cat delima" is....
What a dilemma.....
The delima was I didn’t want to spend an arm and a leg on a single OEM replacement cat, but I didn’t want to be riding around with cheap “high flows” and a check engine light. I don’t have any tuning capabilities, I’ve never had any luck with anti-foulers, and I’ve read mixed reviews on sims. I wasn’t sure they were available anymore honestly. I think the delima part is over, now I just need to buy the right size. Which is easier for a muffler shop, making something fit that’s too big or too small? How about “straight pipe” where the stock cats were and just one cat in the I pipe? Is that too far back? Would one be much louder than two?

2" is fine, the exhaust shop can close up that .25" gap

I turns out that the WS6 store’s inventory was wrong and the sims weren’t in stock. He said he should have some more in ten days or so and asked if I’d like a refund now or would I like to wait. Has anyone ever dealt with the WS6 store? Are they pretty honest?

They can cut further back on into the 2.25" cat, or what ever you buy. They can use reducers, cones, or something more hamfisted to get the size needed. Been there, done that.

Thanks Lee. One more quick question. I know I’m making this harder than it should be, but I was looking at the oem cats and I noticed how close they are to the front O2 bungs. I was shopping for cats that didn’t have bungs prior to realizing how close the O2’s were. Should I order cats that have bungs? Will the O2 in the cat mess with the 02 readings?
I guess a shop could use a section of pipe that has a bung if they had it on hand. But I bet that’d cost more than just putting the 02 in the cat. If the harness will reach I guess.
The front o2 bung on the passenger side, the shop will just reuse that length of pipe, post manifold flange. The driver's side o2 is on on exhaust flange, so the o2 does not need to be touched on the driver's side
The rear o2's don't matter since you're eliminating them, but they can weld on the existing tubes that you have. The shop will, or they should, chop out the cats that are installed presently, and weld into place, between the existing sections of pipe, the new cats. No more complicated than that.

I ordered some cats awhile back and they came right away. I’m still waiting on the o2 sims that I ordered from the WS6 Store two weeks ago. Supposedly he’s expecting a shipment any minute.. Is the WS6 Store dude generally reliable? I found another place listing them. Off the top of y’all’s heads do you know which of these connectors the 4th gen’s have? I’m thinking either 1-4 😂 The Sims
