2002 WS6 Air Box Dilemma
I was going to cut the bottom portion of the intake for cooler clearance not knowing the effects of the current combo. Now it’s either remove the SLP intake all together, obtain a new lower WS6 base, remove hood baffles, and seal it (would also require new ducting since the original is cut). Or replace the lower with a standard base and keep what’s already there (possibly changing to the Chris1313 which I would still cut for cooler clearance).
Keep in mind my Southwest climate is a factor also and the most important thing is keeping everything cool.
Any thoughts from my fellow seasoned members?
Or you can take the bottom feeder approach, but as you say, there's increased grime uptake from the roadway and poor IAT's while idling at a stop over hot pavement. But you can always find a non-WS6 lower airbox to hack up for that purpose, while saving your original, and thus not compromise the originality of your car - if that's an issue for you.

I have thought about this for my own RA hood
