1 is the evap purge valve. Obviously it's not hooked up; just plugging what would otherwise be a gigantic vacuum leak.

2 is throttle position sensor.

3 is the hookup to the PCV valve.

4 is the hookup to the vacuum line that goes to the fuel pressure regulator.

5 is the FPR.

6 I'm guessing is the vacuum hookup to the brake booster; at least that seems to be what's circled.

Not to be a jerk or anything, butt if you're asking that kind of questions about the absolute most basic stuff under your hood, you might be better off just leaving your intake manifold alone.

Thanks for the information. I figured I might get that advice LOL........I've already meet with a local hot rod shop that will do it but its something I've wanted to try and do for a while now. I play around a lot but on my cars, suspension, brakes, front end engine accessories, interior and dash work and simple engine tune ups but have never done this before and wanted to make sure I have all the information I might need. If I give it a try and get stuck I might post again :-) The truck already has the Holley Terminator X Max controller in it and it seems pretty straight forward. but I do have a couple more questions if your willing to help.
1. Do I get an inline after market FPR to put in the fuel line
2. on item number 2 is above what I thought was the TPS. It looks like an additional sensor or is that both of them part of the TPS?

Instead of asking people to spoon feed you answers to the most basic questions, you should search and read. This would enlighten you to at least a small portion of the questions you will otherwise not even know you need answers to. It is obvious at this point that you don't yet know enough to even ask the right questions. The answers to all of them have been repeated ad nauseum on this and several other forums.

Great place to start might be to get yourself the FSM for a truck that came with a motor like that. They're like $15 or $20 on ebay in any of various electronic formats. Nobody here is going to want to keep answering that sort of questions. I'd suggest looking for the one for about a 2000 Escalade. Although, if you can't find one for Escalade, any Chevy truck in that year should do; the only real difference, motor-wise, between LQ9 (6.0) and LM7 (5.3), is the castings. All the external stuff is the same. Don't bother with a Chilton's or Haynes; get the OEM factory GM manual. Needs to be in the year range that had the cable-operated throttle; 03 or thereabouts and newer have drive-by-wire and a different fuel system. Maybe some year before that even.

You're simply not ready for a project like this. You'll end up with a truck that doesn't run at all anymore (looks like, what, late 60s or so?), a giant pile of expensive crap you can't use or sell, and half the stuff you need to keep all hacked up and butchered. Do some basic learning on your own first.

The lower sensor is the TPS. It tracks the the throttle shaft position.
The sensor above it is the Idle air sensor.
Don't know what intake you are going to use but you will need an FFR in the fuel line. I mount them close to the fuel tank so the return line is short. All -6 SS fuel line from back to front. I like and use the C5 FFR from either Wix or Ac Delco. Don't buy anything else like from Ebay.
Pic of my 6.0 swap into a 99 Wrangler. LS6 intake, DBC throttle body, fuel rails and injectors.

Thanks LS1 TJ, very helpful. Thank you very much. I think this gets me the info I need. Crazy to think some people need to express there opinions when I didn't ask for them. If you want to help then help but if you don't then don't. You don't have to comment on my post, just ignore it and go to the next one. I'm really excited to take on this project and I can't wait to see how it turns out. I guess if the forum moderator thinks my question and or comments are to elementary or inappropriate then they can say so and I'll apologize and move on.

I'll post a pic when I'm done or ask another question if I need to. Thanks again for your help LS1 TJ and RB04Av. Much appreciated.

It’s going to be a Holley high rise intake manifold. I should’ve answered that LS1 TJ. I need the high rise to clear the drive belt and coolant return line. I’d like to use a normal rise but I’d have to install a new pulley system and I don’t want to do that. I want to make sure I put the right parts in the right spot. It already has a Holley Terminator X Max controller and wire harness. I like the looks of that intake and plan on using coil covers to make it look like old school valve covers.

My first LS1/4L60E was into a 79 Camaro 15 plus years ago. Hard to believe its been that long ago. Stock LS1.
Could not of done it without the help from this web site.
Since you are new at this I would suggest using a engine/trans/ECM harness from one of the vendors on this site. They can supply a base tune for your engine trans specs. I like and use Spear Tech and Howell.
Don't patch together stuff it just will come to bite you in the butt.
First swap.

Thanks for all the advice. I will check them out. The truck already has the Holley harness and controller. I’m hoping it’s a good solid system. Have you had ant experience with it.

Very cool camaro by the way. Love it. I have a 69 with a big block 502 with a edlebrook fuel injection system. Yours is a lot nicer. WOW

Do a search for Andrew70. He does remote tuning if you need help. My LS swaps have all been pretty mild so the stock GM ECM/TCM's have worked fine for me.
