header install, car runs like crap, PLEASE HELP! I installed my pacesetters and they didnt fit up to my egr pump tube or my air tubes. I modified my air tubes to fit but cant make my egr tube fit all the way back there. I believe they are 00 model headers on my 98 transam. Also, I left the two back 02 sensors off cuz I dont have cats now. I just have the front two hooked up to the headers. If I put the other two on the true dual pipes, would it start running ok since it has SUMTHING to work with? Even though I took off my cats? My car is misfiring and throwing misfire codes, back 2 o2 sensor codes, and insufficient air cuz of the egr not matching up to my headers. HELP! Should I go to thunder racing and get them to delete the back 2 o2 sensors and the whole egr or get a 00 egr pump to match and put the sensors back in behind my front 2 sensors even though I have no cats now.

The engine is probably running rough because of the other sensors not being there. If the egr is not hooked up properly, the engine will run crapy. You could get O2 simulators for the sensors that are not hooked up. You just have to plug the sensors in where the O2's are. If I was you I would just get headers that fit your car.
The rear o2 sensors will not change the way your car runs, the only thing they do is monitor how well the cats are cleaning the exhaust. You did block off the egr tube since you couldn't hook it up right?
Misfire could be because you didn't put the plugwires on right. Check your plugs and plugwires to make sure they are on. You should hear (and feel) two clicks when a plug wire is on properly.
no you can get away without using simulators if you dont mind throwing that code, it will not cause it to run bad. recheck all your plugs and wires and make sure the air and egr arent leaking.

did you block off the EGR hole on your intake manifold? this could be the problem if unmetered air is getting in through here. The rear O2 sensors won't affect performance. Recheck all of the connections.

I got sent the wrong passenger side header and didnt realize it till i got EVERYTHING bolted on (except the egr & air). Figure it was easier to get rid of the EGR and AIR sytem, then to take the header back off. Maybe thats why your egr and air are not lineing up.. Just my .02..
