It can be done but get the epoxy ready because more than likely you are going to go to far. There just isn't a whole lot of material there to port and I think even the best porters that work on these go through in some spots. No big deal as its an easy fix, but for most its probalby not worth the time and effort. Especially if you don't have ported heads that you are trying to match to.

Someone has a ported LS6 intake for sale on the board. He stated he is selling it for $500, which was the cost of the porting. It's like getting the intake for free he said. Is it really that expensive to grind down plastic?!?

No I didnt do it myself. I got mine done at Arlington Motorsport. They did a great job porting my intake. I think it was worth it. I did it because I wanted more flow but didnt want to spend 800 on the fast intake. Im going to step up to the fast when I get my cam and heads.

To port match you take the intake gasket and match it to the head 1st. Then apply it to the intake, scribe the shape out and port away.

You can port match using the gasket, but you don't need to cut all the way out to the gasket, take like a Sharpie and mark around the inside of gasket say a 1\16 inch smaller then the gasket. Making the port bigger to match the gasket won"t help if you don"t do the whole intake port(to the valve)same with the intake!!
