Default NGK TR55 Gapping question

I recently purchased these spark plugs and they said they were suppose to be gapped at .05. When I checked them most of them were gapped close to .055. I was just wondering if this was alright or if I need to correct the gap? Any information you all could give me would be greatly appreciated.

According to NGK the TR55 comes out of the box at .059. The TR5 and TR6 come out of the box at .039.

I like to run my gap at .050, but .055 is cool also.

.050 or .055 is fine.

i've bought several sets of TR55's and some came gapped @ .055 and some @ .050.

got a stupid question. how do you check the gap? how usually just take them out of the box and stick em in.

do you think this is why my car dyno'd so low after putting my cam in???

you buy a plug gapping tool from any auto store, i prefer the "coin" one myself.

plugs if in good conditition should cause any low numbers on a dyno unless they are gapped to an extreme.

well after the cam install in noticed that one of my plugs was cracked, so I went ahead and replaced them. I was going to hold off until after the dyno, but it was pretty bad. The plugs were only about 3 weeks old and had been run for around 250-300 miles at low rpm's.

how much would they hurt it???

I calculated my AUC and it was only like a 38 RWHP*Revolution/minute gain (calculated from 2600-6000 rpms) . I have talked to some people and they believe that some more tuning will help me find the lost power.

so i should go back to my stock MAF, the only problem is that when i first got my car i bought my lid and like an idiot ripped out the mesh (sorry I just went blank on the technical name for it) before researching (actually i never even knew there were sites like this at the time).

plugs are fine. i dont know how much tuning was done but like i said i'd put the stockc maf back on and have it retuned. what was your a/f and do you have your dyno graph? also keep in mind your cam is small and your only hp mods are lid, intake, macs, cam, and pulley. depending on what you started with you numbers might be in line.
