Backpressure Question

I am running a LS1 in a Jeep Wrangler and I have BBK Shorty headers (1 3/4 primaries) with flowmaster 2 chamber mufflers. There is only about 2 1/2 feet of tube between headers and mufflers, and there is nothing coming out of the mufflers themselves. Am I in need of some more backpressure to give me more torque and horsepower?? Thanks for the help!!

Two flow master mufflers should be plenty of backpressure. Cause we all know they are not the 'flow masters'

Backpressure- you want as little as possible for peak numbers.

But, backpressure will bring your torque peak (albeit, a smaller peak due to the backpressure) to a lower rpm point in the rev range. This may benefit off-roading.

What are my options in craeting more backpressure?? I have heard of things that you can put inline that creates more pressure, is this true??

As mentioned above, the Flowmaster mufflers will be creating plenty of backpressure.

Hmm. Creating backpressure would be like essentially having a stock manifold/exhaust ls1 F-bod.

Stock manifolds, stock cats, stock diameter exhaust pipe, crappy muffler.

I honestly don't know why you would want to do this.
You really want a nice flowing exhaust setup, with as little backpressure as possible.

I was just looking for a little more low end torque and I thought this might help. What do you think about putting a 6.0 liter 5.3 liter intake on it for the torque.
