Default tired of her b*tching, need less interior resonance

What mufflers can I get that will cut down on the inside noise of my current settup. My fiance wont stop complaining when we are on the freeway and the drone of the engine overpowers my wonderful stereo system . My only option is muffler change so I cant do anything like taking it over the axle or anything. I heard that XR-1s and Flowmaster 10 series 1 chambers were good at this, any opinions? I want to loose as little aggressive roar outside the car as possible. Thanks for the help guys.

LOL Maybe a Magnaflow system with 2 resonators supposedly cut down on interior drone without harming performance.

Stay away from the flowmaster 10 series.. Those thing freakin drone bad.

Borla XR-1s have absolutely no interior drone. I had them on my first true dual setup, and you wouldn't believe the sound inside the car. Even with them dumped, there was no resonance, vibrations, or drone.

They're a little on the thick side, but they can be fabbed to fit nicely..

Borla XR-1s or Magnaflow 4x9.

yeah, my wife and i usually just take her car when we go out.....but today we took the camaro out....."no wonder you have a headache when you come home everyday" ....yup.....we have to wait for stoplights to have a conversation......i realized how much i like it though when some punk kid in his corolla pulled up next to me and i was in my brother-in-laws pt cruiser and the kid rolls down his passenger side window just in case i couldn't hear the crap he was playing.....and the poor little gay pt couldn't do anything about it.....i'd rather have violent shaking and ear damaging noise then be subjected to a coralla's stereo......

in twenty years kids will be checking our cars out and sayin' "dude, he's still got an original tape deck, awesome"

i guess i don't have any advice...sorry.....

Go with the Borla"s I have an X-pipe with the XS-1'S and it don"t roar and sounds great from outside the car! Mine exit just behind the axle.

Think she would get mad if you just gave her some earplugs? Just playing... I agree that the Magnaflow would be something to look at, nice sound without being to restrictive.

if you want to go the cheaper route, you could also do the flo pro twisters...or add cats....

I have the flowmaster 10 series and I made a freeway trip this weekend. No drone at 70-80MPH. This is the speed that they are the most quiet on my car. I have an A4 though. I'll try to get some of my friends with M6s to post as well.

Have you thought about tearing the interior out and putting some sound deadning material under the carpet. I thought it was called DynoMatt. I have never used it, just read about it. I see Jegs has something called The Insulator that is 48"x72" for $26 that is supposed to help with interior noise. Might be cheaper than buying a different muffler. Just a thought.

magnaflow is a great choice for cutting down on the droning noise that is so common on all f-bodys. Another choice is cats but up to you. You already have the x-pipe so that helps but dumps are loud anyways

Yeah, if you find a "bitch muffler" to cut that droning
(and occasional screeching) from the passenger seat
area, I could use a source.

so far your options are...back to a catback, sound deadning, cats, or different mufflers...oh yeah..spend the $$ and get them out the back

Dynamat the trunk, wheel wells and the ttop holding area, I did it for my friend, he has kooks, off road y and hooker cat back, plus cam tr214 and it helped drastically. Interior resonance was gone, but roll down the windows, and theres the sound you love. You can get enough for about 50.00 bucks. also we are planning to do it under the seats in the back.
