My plan was stock manifolds, high flow cats, x-pipe, true duals, over the axle, Until I can afford some QTP's. Though, I am thinking it may not be all that loud Right now its all stock with a flowmaster welded in, there are times when it can sound sweet, but mostly its so quiet, a baby could sleep behind the car I want loud, but still cats, I dont think that is possible, dangit.

I am going to try this. Could be a good CHEAP option for some of us. Give me about a week or two.

Go ahead and do it. All you would have to do when it comes time for the long tubes is hack off the part of the pipe from the manifold collector to where the pipe would meet up to the LT's collector. A simple modification that would maybe cost $50 at a muffler shop. Remember, many V8 cars came/come from the factory with duals on the manifolds... Corvettes, Mustangs, 1st/2nd-gen F-bodies, etc. Those don't sound bad in most people's opinion... Besides, it seems as though the pre-made dual kits out there don't tuck up very well, custom made is really the way to go.

just installed Bassani's prototype dual exhaust on my 00 formy. (pics soon) still uses one muffler. two pipes coming off the cats and into an X-PIPE just about where the y-pipe met. then two pipes into the muffler with two pipes coming out of the muffler. got to get some track and dyno tests done next.

Does this run out the back or is it dumped? Is Bassani going to sell this as a kit??

I'll think about it. nMaybe I'll try a bullet at the end of the Y-pipe with a turn down.

That is a solid plan. In fact, you could keep the majority of the system in tact, just remove and rejoin the inlets on the other side of the crossover junction.

I had my TDs setup on my mani's and cats at first, couldnt afford headers at the time. With 2.5" tubing, an X-pipe feeding into "blue streak" bullet mufflers then under the axles it was quiet at idle, real quiet, almost SS stock like. But WOT was nice, mellow and NO drone at all. Lost .2 in the qtr. COst was $550. Later had it re routed to the Jet Hot LTs and that was pretty easy, guy hooked me up since I told him in the begining what i was planning and also brought in some customers. No clearance issues either.
