Default Ticking after Mac Header Install?

Hey everyone, I installed my mac headers with the catted y-pipe a little over a week ago and ever since the install there is a noticable ticking noise coming from the bottom of the engine compartment and under the car. I dont have an aftermarket cam, just the stock one, and it never ticked at all before installing the headers. Im guessing I just didnt torque down the y-pipe bolts enough...I checked the plus and wires too and they are fine. Any other suggestions?

You might be having a header leak, or depending on how loud it is, some cars tick with aftermarket headers, my reccomendation would be to try to pinpoint a leak if it noticeably loud

yea double check everything.
When I install Macs on my 98, I had a bad header leak, I removed the header that was leaking, put a new gasket on, made sure everything was tight and still had a leak, so I took off the header again and inspected the header and found that Mac missed a few welds by the collecter causing a leak. I called them and they send me a new one.
That my not be the case though.
After I got the headers on , I did hear a slight ticking noise, I guess it was normal, I didn't worry about it any more.

use a flexible tube to you ear and the other end around the headers to pinpoint the leak if that is what it is. did you hook back any emissions stuff. also, headers like that always amplify sound, my car always ticked 90% of the time after my longtube install thought it was a bad lifter but i was just the car, added the cam and obioulsly all is still good.

You need to get(or make) some restrictor plates for the AIR injection pipes. I took a thin aluminum plate and cut it to fit between the header and the pipe and drilled about a 3/16" hole in the center.

Yea I kept all of the emissions stuff and I used all new gaskets for everything. I tightened the y-pipe bolts fairly quickly and so im going to go over all of them plus the header bolts this afternoon. I checked the plugs and they seem to be torqued down appropriately, but I mean I dont want to overtorque them. How hard should they be torqued in? Also, what are restrictor plates and where would they go? Thanks for the responses and any other advice would be appreciated. Have a great day!

It's probably like SSTYCOON said. I have the Macs and mine tick really bad. It's a bad weld in the collector. I would have already sent mine back, but by the time I finally figured it out they had been on the car for about a year.
