Just tighten them to spec, then be sure to recheck after a few hours of run time... It never hurts to check them from time to time afterwards, either.

I used just a hint of high temp red locktite and never had a problem. Checked after a couple of days and they were still tight. I check every couple months and not a single bolt loosened up.

I asked the same question when I did my studs. I got more responce to use high temp anti seeze. I used the anti seeze on threds going in to the heads and nothing on threds with the nut. Retorqued About 3 times have not had any problems.

Antisieze is awesome! I always check header bolts a couple of times after install, but the antisieze helps alot when you remove them.

I've have heard many different opinions on this. And to be honest I was going to re-use my stock bolts without locktite on my headers. But guess what, there was thread locker on my stock bolts when I removed them & I had work my butt off to remove it off of the threads before reinstalling. It was some hard crap. This is on an 01, maybe different on other years?

Bottom line is that I reused my old bolts and used med locktite since the factory had used thread locker. So far no problems.

Oops, I just voted for loctite without thinking about it. I use anti-seize and don't torque them to spec b/c I can't really get a torque wrench on a lot of them so I guestimate.

I could not get my torque wrench on a couple bolts, I just guessed. But just use some anti-seize and tighten them up.

Anti-seize here, and no torque wrench. I just guestimated as well, then checked the ones I could easily reach a few days later.

Ok, so I'm NOT insane! My install/part Guys at East Side Performance told me that the stockers are fine. I'd never use LockTite on aluminum heads, well mabie a hint of the blue LockTite...

I put 400 miles on my headers when I was back home and the bolts are still tight. I checked them after 100 miles and they were all fine. I ordered the ARP lockers when I purchased my Random Tech cats and I never got the bolts!! UPS is pissing me off!!!

LITHIUM: I could not get my torque wrench on a couple bolts, I just guessed.
Same here. Got every one TQ'd except the VERY rear bolt on the PASS side. I couldn't get my TQ wrench to sit on the bolt head properly...no go....
