Default Brisk plug info PTII!!!

MisterMike has me curious sooooo, I picked up the phone and talked to Nickens Performance about these plugs. and it turns out their NHRA PS Hemi engines are picking up power. (+3 to +8HP)

They were very nice and informative on the phone,Kinda shocked me a PS engine builder would call me back, anyway he has 4 LS1 engines at his shop and will be taking them apart for some testing. They told me these will be H/C setups and Stroker setups and they will be testing the plugs on an engine dyno.

He was very nice and said to call him back after the end of Jan. for the info. The best part about this was he admitted not to know alot about LS1's but was very impressed with the power they produce and thats why he is playing around with a few engines.

Who knows maybe he is working with a few racers who want to run LS1 power in a certain class?Whatever the outcome I'm excited since they were so willing to give me the poop on the end results.

I'll be calling them back in Feb..
I'm excited,if there worth 5 to 7 HP I'll buy them....

Good Job. Next time I pull up along side a souped-up Mopar, I'll have to ask him "That thing got an LS1 in it?"

Well, I'm still stoked about how my car is running with these plugs. I went with the "17" temp range plugs, but that's what was recommended when I discussed with them my compression ratio ect....

Might have been better to go with 16 or 15 plugs, but I can't complain at all. Mileage is still better than its ever been, including bone stock.... and the throttle response is great.

I'm happy..... what's $70 in the grand scheme of things.

I'm happy with mine too. I've noticed significantly better response in 4th, 5th, and 6th gear. 1,2,3 were already pretty strong so the butt-o-meter didn't notice as much of an improvement. I'd dish out this much coin a year or two from now for a new set of Brisks.

Brisk claims a 30,000 Mile replacement interval on the LGS type. I doubt if I'd leave any plug in that long, especially with aluminum heads. They use a silver center electrode, as opposed to some of the longer life exotic metals, but should have a pretty wide heat characteristic, as silver is a superb conductor of heat. If you go colder than a 17, you might want to pull them out and clean them in a grit blaster once in a while. They run about $20 and run off compressed air. AFAIK, there is no 16 heat range on this plug. I was told the 15 is the next colder plug from a 17 in the LGS style.
