You just smoothed out the ridge before the plate, but didn't do anything around the plate right? If you did anything around the plate then that would let air in around the plate which would cause problems.

I agree with Cyphur, shouldnt have any "power" problems by just doing the lip mod.

Almost sounds like it's not downshifting to second like an A4 should do at WOT at 60 MPH.

Three words for you "Throttle Position Sensor"!!!! But seriosly after I did my TB a while back it worked great for the first frew weeks. However then I started notising the car wouldn't down shift correctly at certain times and would bog out. Long story short; I would throw a code every few weeks and noticed it was getting worse. So I watched the real time data yesterday and low and behold my TBS is sitting right at 0% open according to the PCM. So I guess its time to figure out the problem and get it fixed to make it run like a bat out of hell again. I also noticed my 02 readings were swinging from dead rich to bottom out lean according to the numbers I recorded (hopefully thats just because the PCM didnt' know I was on the gas )

That's an O2 sensor code if I'm not mistaken.

It's not uncommon for another problem to rear it's ugly head right after you touch something else. It's the cars' way of saying, "don't touch me."

I thinks it's a *front* O2 sensor code. Commonly referred to as a lazy O2.

On second thought, it could be that you created a vacuum leak up by the TB which would also cause this problem.

Mine only throws the error code every now and then; but when I watch the real time data while driving around using my predator. What I see is every time I have the 60MHP down shift at WOT problem were it doesn't downshift correctly my %TB is at 0% and after a minute or two it starts reading correctly. The actual TPS error says Throttle Position Sensor error when you scan the codes.

Question

I am in the process now of dong the fill, half shaft, and port mod. What are the chances of my TPS going bad on me after the install? I will knife edge the butterfly, but I will not touch the area that it seals against the t/body. Is this going to cause more problems than it's worth?

Do not mess with the knife edge unless you are confedent in your skill level. Take your time and take off alittle bit at a time and you should be fine but do not believe there will be a real gain on that part.

Thanks for the reply. The knife edge isn't what has me spooked though. I am worried about the TPS going south on me after the mods are done. There's a little clip that popped out when I slid the shaft out of the main body. It looks flimsy and will not be easy to put back on because it uses cleaance( or lack there of ) to keep it in place. It goes in the area that the sensor seats into. That is my on real worry about this deal-- the TPS...

I do not put that round clip back on on mine so dont sweat it- there is no side load on the throttle shaft to warrant puttin it back on.
