Default QTP (1 7/8s) Header guys inside

Im looking at purchasing some QTP 1 7/8s headers was wondering about how well these fit & ease of installation. Ive did a few searches and have come across one problem resulting in having to grind down the steering nuckel for it to clear the #1 primary. Has anyone else had problems with installation of these headers and can this be done without a lift? (to save a few extra $$$)

Thanks,

Matt

it depends on the year of your car, most steering shafts will clear. mine (2000) didn't, they probably switched in the middle of the year also.
you can pull out the shaft without a lift.

i assume he plans on doing some work on the bottom end or has some MAJOR valve train modifications soon to come-1 7/8" would be overkill on stock valvetrain i think

It will be overkill for about a month or/ so after I get them, till I can port myself some heads & choose a cam that best fits what I want for my ls1.

Onyx LS1 , are you saying the header install can be done w/o a lift?

Thanks for the replies!

yeah headers can be installed without a lift-its patience thats the key and you jsut wanna get it off the ground enough to slide the headers right in theree

QTP's fit great. I'm running the 1 7/8s on my car, only thing I had to remove to get them installed was the starter and the oil filter. Other than that, they slid right in (using BMR K-Member, stock they might not). I even left the spark plugs in
