Default Don't waste your money on BBK

This past sunday while driving down the road, I all of a sudden have no throttle. Well I coast to a stop on a side street and pop the hood. When I opened the hood, a part of the tb shaft and my throttle cable are laying off to the side of the tb. The shaft snapped where one of the screws attach to the tb blade. Well today I call BBK. I didn't expect any kind of warranty from them since the tb is almost 4 years old. Even though it only has about 20k miles on it. Well first I ask if I can just get a replacement part to fix my tb. They tell me they can't because of liability issues. So I said thats fine. Well I then ask if I could send them the tb and still they so no. The guy tried telling me there may have been changes to the parts so there is no way they can fix it. I don't know about you guys, but I can't imagine there is much of a difference in how the tb was made in 2001 and now. Even if there were some changes, how drastic could they be? Either way, I was pretty disapointed in the attitude of the first person I talked with. I am lucky that this thing broke at part throttle and not full throttle. It might not have closed back. There is no way I will ever buy a part from this company ever.
I am glad I didn't buy this in the first place.

That sucks, bunch of blood suckers. I hate it when businesses aren't presenting good customer service to keep the person coming back to them.

I have asked around on a local board, and apparently I am not the only person to have had this problem.

A good friend of mine began having idle problems with his. He took it to Thunder Racing, and Geoff was looking at the tuning and couldn't figure it out. Finally, he looked and saw the blade in the BBK had a crack in it, starting from the screw. Imagine if your motor would suck part of your blade up.

I was messing with the tb today, just to see if there was a possibility of having a new shaft made, and I found out that both of the screws were just about to come out of the shaft. Just imagine if both of those had come out and gone through the engine. The good side is I just might have got a new motor out of the deal, but oh well. Just have to find a better part next time.

Can you post some pics of the broken shaft? I'd like to compare it with mine (brand new) to see if the parts have changed any. I can tell you this, I have taken the blade out and them screws was real tight going in and out.

If they gave you that kind of customer service, I don't think they would have done anything about your motor.
You would have had to drag them to court.
Makes me think twice before I buy BBK now.

If they are too chickensh!t to repair the defective part itself, I doubt they would be willing to even HEAR about their liability fixing the whole engine. BTW, I've heard of many problems with the BBK tb.

Scary... i've had mine on for almost three years w/o one single problem. looks like i'm going to need to keep an eye on it.... might be a good time to swap it out since it isn't CARB approved in CA anyway (never passes the visual!)

That sucks about the BBK TB. I was looking into getting one myself, but I ended up getting a better deal with another TB.

I just got a new digital camera. Give me a couple days to take the time to load the software, and figure out the camera. I will show you some pics
