Default 2 questions regarding headers for 2000 ss

hi
i wanted to go with slp headers on my 2000 camaro ss, but i know they have clearance issues. would my car be considered "lowered" since i do have the Bilstein sport package (decal on the pass door) from the factory and i think this package comes with eibach springs. if this is the case then i definetely don't want the slps since i know they will scrape. the other questions i have is regarding the kook aluminized y-pipe. what is the life expectancy of this? i am afraid it will rust in a few years and this is one of the main reasons i wanted the slp's since they are stainnless.
thanks for the help
todd

have you ever seen slp headers im person? they hang way too low for a lowered car. I havent had a problem with my kooks y pipe yet. ive only had about 4 months though.

For the money you spend on the SLP headers and the clearance issues that come with it isn't worth it. You can have better fitting headers for less and lowered car won't matter anymore.

Steer clear of the SLP LTs IMO. Much better headers out there. Just because it says SLP doesn't mean it is the best...in this case the SLP LTs have to be the lowest hanging LTs out there.

slp or kooks???

KOOK'S all the way much better fitment and quality just throw some good high temp paint on the ypipe and you should be fine or see if they have a stainless one, the headers are stainless so im sure they have to have a stainless y

No stainless Y-pipe when I got mine. But they are the best header out there.

I'd go with either Kook's or QTP's, My buddy had SLP LT's on his hawk which had the SLP suspension package and he had some scraps on the collectors, he switched them out with QTP's and hasn't had a problem since..

I have the Kooks 1 3/4 headers w/ 3" aluminized ORY(they only offer their ory/catted-y in aluminized steel). They tuck incredibly well, I've never scraped on anything. I plan on lowering my car another inch and a half and they still shouldn't scrape any.
