Smells.............. YEP.
Of course I have a cam as well, which does make it worse. My car is tuned, but you can smell raw fuel / exhaust if you open the windows or sit at a redlight with the A/C on.

Yeah, the smell can get a bit strong at times, but it's usually worth it to ditch the cats. I picked up 20 RWHP switching from a high-flow catted Y-Pipe to catless true duals. Granted, I have a cam, but the power increase should be noticeable even on a stock car.

I have an ORY and you can smell gas if your standing behind it. Its a lot better than the old '75. Depends if your comparing it to old musle cars with no emissions or a minivan.

No cats here either, saves weight, adds power and in some cases better sounds.
I actually liked the way my car sounded with the cut out open when it had stock cats/manifolds versus the ORY pipe uncapped (ie: loud) but when capped my stock cat back sounds MUCH better now with the ORY.![Nod](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_nod.gif)
The smell bothers me once in a while (idling in the garage before pulling it out) but isn't too bad.
I have the QTPs (HVMC headers, ORY pipe and QTEC cut out) btw and they're great.

Running the QTP Dual Elect. Cutout ORY here and love it.
Less fumes than my old TD's.
As long as you have tailpipes that exit out and away from the car, things should be fine. I had a catback a while back with turn-downs that faced the ground and that thing stunk more than true duals dumped at the axle facing 45 degrees outward.

I'm running a single cutout and ORYP. The smell is definetely noticable. Everytime I get on it and my friend is behind me he tells me how much it stinks...he's right. Like others have said, it won't be so bad if you're not cammed.

Thanks for all the replies. I just rememberd that I had a 1978 Jeep Wagoneer with a 360 and it did not have Cats, just an Air Pump and I never noticed a smell.
