Default Pacesetter headers question???

Hey guys,
I am new and i did a search but couldnt find the answer i was looken for. I just purchased a 2000 Trans Am ws6. it has a cat-back on it and i haven't found out what kind, but it sounds good. I am wondering what is better pacesetter headers with emission or the non emissions and if i get non emissions would i have to upgrade to a ls6 intake or along those lines?I think non emissions would be better but i dont know about the intake? And is there a hp loss with either and will it affect any future mods...... CAM,HEADS,NITROUS i dont know lol but thats in the far future. LOL
thx rob

I say go with emissions unless u can have all the crap programmed out. Even if u wanted to get rid of it later just get block off plates. And no u wouldn't need a different intake for the headers.

If you dont have to worry about emissions go with the race style headers, That way you can get rid of the EGR and AIR crap. If you have to worry then go with the ones with all the emissions. Like GT Griller said you can just get the blockoff plates if you change your mind.

going with non-emission headers will throw a code, well, and new exhaust setup will throw a code unless you install O2 sims. My advice is to get the non-emissions headers (they are cheaper and after removing egr and air, you engine bay will look much cleaner). As far as the intake is concerned, there are threads that have been posted on this subject as to how to make an egr block off plate for the intake. Keep in mind that after modifying the exhaust, especially if you get non-emissions, you will throw codes, but they wont affect performance, and you can get them tuned out.

I already bought the QTP non-emissions headers, and I plan to remove all the emissions **** from my car.

Either way LT's are the right way to go!!

I guess my question is, if i get race headers with non-emissions, is my intake on my 2000 like the ls6 that gm put on the 2002?or will i need to get the ls6 intake, cause i really dont block off plates. also is there and performance difference between the two?
peace rob

If you have a budget of about 725, I know a guy that will get you Jet Hot coated LT headers and a Jet Hot coated y pipe and all EGR and AIR fittings etc. for 725 SHIPPED.

easiest thing would be to just get the Pacesetter's with the emissions (AIR & EGR) provisions. As mentioned you could always use block off plates later on if you change your mind. The Pacesetters were the same price for emissions & non-emissions when I bought mine a couple months ago.

I highly doubt you're giving up any performance by going with the emissions ones. As for the Eibach Pro kit I have it on my car already. Part of the reason I chose the Pacesetters was because everyone here said there should be no ground clearance issues with them. The replies I got were from people with lowered cars and long tubes, the concenus was anything other than SLP would be fine. The Pro kit is only a 1-1/2" drop, I think there were a couple people with the sportline kit even, which is a 2" drop I believe, who were running LT's without too much trouble.

I'll be installing mine with an ORY hopefully soon. I was planning on having them in the car by now but the weather here is just not co-operating.
If you want to get the headers without emissions fittings there are articles & instructions in the FAQ section how to remove your EGR and AIR. Like someone else mentioned you will need those things programmed out of the PCM.
What type of Y pipe are you planning to go with?

When I bought my cat back system from this kid, it was a little short because I didn't have LT headers.... If I install a LT headers will they cut off some of that reducer pipe I got because the Lt's will make my y go farther back. I also plan on putting a cutout where the i and y pipe meet and have it welded. Am I in a bad situation?

I got mine from Speed Inc. They are on sale for $375 (coated). I know Texas Speed also had these on sale for the same price about a month ago.
I got the Texas Speed ORY, everyone here seems to favor that one over the Pacesetter Y.
