Headers... long, short, med-size! Which are better!

Cool Headers... long, short, med-size! Which are better!

How you doin everybody? I'm learning so much from thise site and helpful people like you. I got another question on Headers. I'm looking at those Flow Tech Headers, they seem to be really good headers and the price isn't expensive at all. But i'm also looking at Kook's, Hookers, and JBA. Now before i make my decision for good, what is the best headers size to get? Short, Medium, or long tube? Long tube i heard give you better top end, sound better, but i'm scared they will scrape. Anyone know what's the best deal?

Get the LT's. SLP's are teh only ones that scrape and that's pretty much only of you lower your car.

Read the sticky on exhaust, it should answer all your questions.

If you're on a budget, get some coated Pacesetters or Jet Hots.
Clearance is fine with all long tubes except SLP's as mentioned above.
If you have $$$ step up to KOOKs or QTP's.

Any tips on getting a new y-pipe? I wanna know if getting any y-pipe would fit with any pair of headers? The only reason i ask is because not all headers come with a y-pipe. Anyone know if it's worth it to get the y-pipe coated, or is that just a waste of money?

waste of money to coat y-pipe...in fact i would go with true duals...but if you aren't wanting that you can use the y-pipe that comes with headers or buy a flowmaster merge collector and have an exhaust shop fab up a y-pipe for you...

I'd get the LT's. I've never had one problem with scraping mine. Nice car by the way. Looks better withouth the body kit though.

Awesome! Thanks for the info guys... Oh, and what's a good pair of Cats to get and where can you buy them online? Oh, thanks for the comment chaos, i just got rims for it so it should stick out better. About the ground effects, everybody has there opinions, hopefully they will grow on you like they do to most people. They aren't too bad, i've seen worst.

I'd opt for some PaceSetters over FlowTech LTs. There is a big difference in quality between the two and a small difference in price.

Buy a good quality Long Tube. I hear Kooks and dynatech's are great. I had a pair of flowtech's for my Monte Carlo SS and the fit was awful. Really bad fit.

Long tubes make the best power and sound, midlength are ok if your car is slammed.

I have mid-length and the drivers side cat scrapes on some speed bumps....I have to inch over the speed bump. I also have the eibach sport-lines....
go with longtubes...or a mids without cats...
