Default Fast Toys Ram Air and SLP Hood

I want to purchase a SLP Ram Air Hood from thunderracing.com. Just want to know if the Ram Air hood is still functional w/ the Fast Toys Ram Air Kit? Just want to know before I purchase the Hood and Fast Toys Ram Air Kit! Thanks for any Info!

The FAST TOYS ram air kit makes your ram air hood useless. the kit seals the air box and gets air from the wind deflector that is under the car

What do you all think? Should I go with the SLP Ram Air Hood or the Fast Toys Ram Air Kit? Which of the two will give my Trans Am more useful air to the engine? If I were to get both would the Ram Air Hood create any drag because of the Air box being sealed?
Thanks for any Info!

You don't have to seal the airbox. They give you a peice of weatherstripping that you "can" put in the front opening ot the airbox, but you don't have to. I left it unsealed, I figure air from 2 places is better than one. I've got a post about my track time differences, not scientific by any means, but I'll see if I can find it.

the ram air is not useless on my car, the ws6 is functional. if u dont have the ws6 lower air box, dont get the hood and expect good ram air. or get the ws6 hood and get the bigger lower box and get you a lot of air in there, i cut my baffles out, so its a real ram air lol

There you go. I did just so there would be some data, and it made me feel useful, but not scientific by means.

Yah the stock WS6 hood is functional, barely. I cut holes in the two baffles it has behind the screens. The whole point of the FTRA kit is to eliminate any hot engine air coming through the Throttle. the FTRA gets cold air form under. Ram Ir hood is mainly looks in my opinion.

I think you should get the WS6 hood with the BGRA kit instead of the FTRA kit.

aftermarket kits suck up air from down low at the road, you can suck up a lot of **** that way. the factory ram air has to be safe, it has to keep water and **** out of there, which is the reason for the baffles. if you want more air, cut the baffles out, its a lot better than the aftermarket kits IMO. the aerodynamics of the nose allow for high pressures at the ram air nostrils

Is this the hood you're talking about?

Buddy of mine has that and he has an interesting air box to go along with it, I'll see if he has a pic.

Go with what I have... the SLP hood with a Volant Cold Air Induction. Fits PERFECTLY with the SLP hood. Sounds great when you put your foot into the injectors too.

I had to use K&N Red oil but I just got my Volant Blue filter oil which will make it look much purtier.

Well, no need to post the pic, haven't gotten to it anyways, but that's EXACTLY the same box I was thinking/talking about. You could probably fab it if you wanted to, just need the filters, some sheet, a welder, some time, and some weather stripping. Where did you buy that from and how much though?
