Default Figure this one out for me.....

When I start my car in the morning for the first time it always starts on the first bump of the key, then it idles nicely. I always wait about 1-2 minutes before driving away. But as I drive away and start to accelerate it misses and sputters while I'm picking up speed gradually. Then all of a sudden it revs up to where it should be perfectly smooth and will be perfectly fine from then on.

Wires are new Taylors and they're all on tight.

Any ideas?

What type of weather are you in when this occurs? Really cold? I may have to go with the fuel pump theory myself.

Mine did that before my fuel pump went out. Could also be a dirty fuel filter.

It happens in any weather, but only for about 5-10 seconds. If I hit the gas hard it doesn't do it and will go right away, then come back for a few seconds if I come off the gas. But either way, it will only do it right after I pull away for the first time in the morning, then be gone for good.

I had the Racetronix fuel system installed a little over a year ago. Maybe its the filter, I'll change it out.

mine does it 2. But my reason is the number 5 wire keeps coming a little loose off the plug (its still on just not snapped on. due to vibration i guess, car has headers) So before u go replacing parts just go through all ur plug wires and make sure they're all snapped on correctly

Possible EGR. The LT1s had those exact symptoms when they had EGR problems.

I would say fuel pump or gunked up injectors. My G/F's oldsmobile did this exact same thing for a while before we figured out it was the injectors, cleaned them, and then it was fine.

Do you have an electric cutout? Mine did exactly the same thing and I removed the QTC electric cutout and the butterfly plate gears were worn out ... causing the thing to flutter ... damn PCM didn't know whether to run rich or lean. It would sputter like hell for a few minutes. It was like a fuel blockage or a spark loss or something ...

Mine car would do that when my O2's were going out. It would do exactly what you said when slowely taking off all the sudden the car would feel like it has a 2-step on it (Spitting Sputtering). If I floored it it would go back to normal, but if I didnt floor it, it would continue to spit and sputter for 5-10 seconds then go back to normal. I put some new 02's in it and it didnt do it again till it fouled out the 02's again.
