Question Pacesetters with Catted Y CONFUSION

Okay so I am getting a pair of pacesetters. I need cats, as I am in PA. Do i need to fab up a custom Catted Y or can I buy one that will work with the LT's and my Magnaflow I-pipe right now? Thanks guys!

Unless somebody came out with one while I was out of the loop lately there isn't. When I got my jet-hot LT's (same design as pacesetter/hooker) there wasn't a singly catted Y, nor was there a Y that had enough clearance to add cats too. I had someone in line to make a custom Y using a pair of carsound highflow cats that I had already purchased but he changed the asking price when he realized how tight it was. I just took it as a sign and ditched the Y-pipe idea altogether. Returned the cats, sold my loudmouth and called Speed Inc to make an appointment for duals.

Scratch that, I thought something came out while I was out of the loop.

QTP's catted Y fits pacesetters, there ORY does as well...if you go to there site it says it on there...it fits hooker as well

QTP LS1 Off Road Cat Y Pipe For QTP, Hooker,Jethot, Pacesetter Headers
The 3" Off Road Y pipe uses Carsound Cats and a Flowmaster Y Collector that mergers the 2 pipes without losing velocity.

that was from there site...

Aditud had a set cut in her ORY. It was not easy so if you can find one that works I would recommend doing that.

TSP Catted Y is a nice piece; I have one and like it. Install was easy.

How does the TSP catted Y fit? Does it bang the floor? I have ORY and I don't like the sound at all.

You should be able to adjust the y-pipe to where it does not bang the floorboard. They will take some time to adjust properly, but we never have a problem with the catted or OR y-pipes that we install here at our facility.

FYI, we have the TSP catted 3" y-pipe with dual 3" Carsound hi-flow cats on special for $324.99 + shipping. Feel free to e-mail me at trevor@texas-speed.com or give me a call at the number below if you have any questions or concerns.

Cool

thanks for all the info guys. Good Lord man the catted Y from TSP is as expensive as the headers themselves! I'll have to keep looking around, cause (no offense Trevor) there's no way I am spending $3xx for a bit of pipe and a pair of cats. That's ridiculous.

My TSP catted-y has never touched the floorboard. And I don't think you'll be able to do much better than $325 for a pre-fabricated catted y-pipe. You might be able to get an exhaust shop to fab you one up, though. I know the Carsound/Magnaflow cats are about $100 for a pair on ebay.

Well, good luck finding a semi-decent quality "bit of pipe" and a pair of cats for much less than that.

Point is that ~$325 for a pre-fabbed Y-pipe made to fit your headers along with a pair of cats isn't bad. Somebody pointed out it's $100 retail for the cats alone. That leaves just over $200. You might be able to find somebody who can make you one for less than that while matching the quality but don't count on it. I tried that back when I installed my headers (nobody made catted Y for these yet) and only guy I could find was going to charge $300. Me supplying the cats. No thanks. That's why I just went ahead and got duals, selling my loudmouth.

yeah I hear that man. hmm after looking on my own also, I reckon I'll probably end up shelling out the dough for QTP or TSP then anyway. Hopefully I can avoid the classic floorboard banging. hehe I see Thunder racing makes a good Y pipe hanger to keep it from hitting, just a couple threads down. What would be nice is if I couldd find a way to get past the cats, but in PA, I doubt that will happen.

Do you know what kind of emissions test they use? If it's OBDII plug in you're golden. I passed emmisions with longtubes, no cats, no air, no egr and dumped duals.
