Default New bracket and pulley, still squeaking...

Alright, well I did the TSB recommended fix and replaced:
bracket 12563327
pulley 12563326
belt 12569527

The belts still squeak after it rains on the car. Did I use the right parts? Is there something else causing this?

Any help appreciated, I can't stand this f#$@ing squeaking......

once it starts squeaking, pull your car into the garage and take the belt off. then just spin everything untill you find the wheel that squeeks. this is how i found my moms squeak in her truck. may be worth a shot...

I had a horrible squeal in the idler pulley on my 98 Z28 and spinning by hand didn't make any noise at all. It would only make noise with the belt on.

Narrow down down your hunt this way (from some thread on this site ): Take the big belt off and give it a start for a few moments. If it still squeals, then take off the little belt and give it a start for a few moments.

Keep an eye on your temp as you troubleshoot.

Nope, didn't replace the tensioner, but replaced the tensioner pulley only. Does the tensioner itself cause the squeaking?

AC is still on the car, BTW.

I have had an intermittent squeak that became constant after it rained here the last few days. I really was about to believe i had a vacum leak. I sprayed about 2 shots of silicone spray and THE NOISE IS COMPLETELY GONE. Fyi- i just replaced my belts about 8 k ago. Thought i would share.

Make sure to also check the A/C belt tensioner!!!!

mine went bad twice...and made a nice "belt" type noise.
