Default Whats the deal with headers?

I have money to buy the QTP headers and y pipe, but i would also like some left over to put into like a TC or SFC.....IS QTP so expensive because they are stainless steel? I see everyone on ls1tech say all headers give the same hp and all. Whats a header thats a step down from QTP and Kooks thats cheaper but wont rust and perform well???? Any OPINIONS>>>>>>THANK YOUUUU!!!!!

You get what you pay for, the QTP headers are the best out there and stainless steel. As far as a step down, you will be looking at coated headers instead of stainless steel ones. I went with the pacesetters, because for the price you cant beat it. They are really good headers, and cheap as hell. But with coated headers you are going to get some surface rust. Basically you just got take the time and clean them up every month or so. I have had mine for four months now, and I dont have any rust on them. Plus they are not going to rust all the way though, coated headers will outlast the life of your car.

Get Kooks or the QTP's if you don't want rust. Honestly the next step down might be Jet-Hots or jet-hot coated hookers. I have Jet-Hots. The lower half is covered in surface rust. Wish I could have afforded QTP's or kooks.

If ur not going stainless dont waste ur cash on anything more than pacesetters. All coated ones will eventually rust so why pay 500+ for headers that will perform just like $380 headers do. Thats just my opinion.

Don't know about longevity issues yet since I just got the Pacesetter's, but the quality and ease of installation were awesome. And the power gain was certainly worth the money. I would probably get SS if I could afford to, but then again, that's a lot of money saved to put towards other mods.

stainless will not rust...coated will...all stainless steel headers are 750+ so qtp is about as good as your gonna get as far as price...unless you go coated

eh, you can get Kooks for a GREAT price from Matt@TTP. Kooks & QTP are both top-notch headers, no doubt. if you don't want rust, you don't want coated. get SS

If you want a part to last, get QTP. The coated headers will rust. I had the Hooker LT's with JetHot Coating and they rusted. Pacesetter's have shown rust as well. The QTP's fit without modifying anything. If you want a kick in the pants, get the TC first.
