I bought coated pacesetter's from Speed Inc back in Feb for $375. Think I paid $144 for Texas Speed's Y pipe w/ free shipping.

wow you guys are brutal. ok maybe he should have said in his (opinion )garbage pacesetters. from what ive gathered from this site so far,is that they both flow good and they are quality headers, except for the air tubes and such. so the difference in price is the material used and coatings.i dont know about the rest of you but $400. bucks is still expensive to have to rig it. i bought edelbrock headers that came with the y pipe and fittings for my 83 z/28. everything hooked without haveing to do much of anything else. all i think this guy was doing was just letting people know about it and blowing off steam.

yeah I paid 360 for my pacesetters from speed inc in march. They were very easy to install and and you CAN'T beat the price. Sorry there, my vote goes to the pacesetters being 16 and needing to pay for other **** made me want them even more.

I had no problems whatsoever with my pacesetter lts everything slid rite into place with ease took only about 30 mins to get em on. I love em! great sound too..

I agree people are taking this way too seriously. I actually think his post is helpful because even though these are minor iussues still it would have been nice to know about before I bought and/or installed them. Especially the point about needing a longer hose on the driver side air tube because it did not line up the same as stock. This is a big deal when you're installing them 30miles from your house at 10pm when all the auto parts stores nearby are closed.-lol I was lucky my buddy had extra hose in the garage.
He could have chosen better words for the title.

I blew the EGR tube right off the pass. side header. I called up TSP and pacesetter, and they replaced it, no questions asked.

My car is cam only. The EGR was blocked off with the plate Pacesetter supplies. I won't buy their parts again. I'd rather wait and buy quality parts in the future.

I just got my coated pacesetters in the mail and they look great. I took about 2 minutes and slid the Drivers side header on w/o any problems whatsoever. I laughed because it was sooooo easy?

Keep in mind the source of this thread. Which is a person running a business that he takes alot of pride in. It's one thing to choose for yourself a set of Pacesetters(or any mildsteel header, look at my sig ) knowing that you are going to have some rust, but that you will get 95% of the performance (estimate) of more expensive SS headers for half the price or less. Would you want to make that recomendation to a customer who is trusting you to offer him the best products and be willing to back them up? Also, keep in mind that all of this talk about it being very easy to just add this on the install, or tap that thread is fine and dandy for a do it yourselfer on an afternoon, but it's murder to a FlatRate Tech making a living by being efficient. Then you get a product that is all screwed up and requires an extra 30-60 minutes, and that's less money in your paycheck at the end of the week for having to do more work to make up for someone else's mistake. I think maybe Matt went a little too far in calling them Garbage in a public forum, but his point is valid from his point of view.
