Default Talk me into true duals...

I wanted duals originally. But here is why I am starting to decide against them:
1) I finally found a palce that could do them, but it would be $800 parts and labor for aluminum. And that is if I buy the X and the mufflers myself. He said $500 for labor alone. I can't do I myself and I just don't have that kind of money.
2) I need cats. The police are horrible in my town and I would just need them. And I don't know if have TDs with the cats is worth having TDs at all. The guy at the shop said I won't get a whole lot more as far as gains and sound are concerned if I have cats on.
3) I don't have LTs yet. I plan on them, but not till next summer (not this one). Plus do you need LTs to have true duals? I don't even know. Like I said earlier, I need cats too.
4) $800 for aluminum??!!?? That's insane to me. I don't know. Wouldnt stainless be the way to go. I am trying to spend no more than $800 total, but for aluminum??!? That's just dumb.

I can be swayed if anyone has a solution to my problem. I live in town, I can't weld, I can't bend, I really can't do anything other than bolt on. Can someone help me?

This has nothing to do w/ Borla or GMMG. Different people read about different things.

I replied to this in the other thread. If you must have tips coming out the back, which I agree it might look wierd without them, then you might want to stick with GMMG. Duals just sounds so, so, so nice though.

True duals, even with cats sounds way better than Y/dual tips.

I've been posting till my fingers fall off since I got my duals installed last Friday. DO IT NOW!! DON"T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT, JUST DO IT!! You will thank yourself, LS1tech, you'll hug the exhaust guy (okay maybe not) and you'll attempt to do somersaults in your front yard. Honestly though, absolutely amazing sound. To some it may be on the loud side depending on muffler choice, but still, the sound is totally ! And with Sweet Thunders, ! There are a lot of mufflers that sound good, you'll just have to listen to LS1sounds and decide for yourself.

It's a waste of money to do them until you have LT's. It's no big deal to put cats on the car. Getting the tips to exit out the rear will be a bit more complicated, but can be done.

the bassani tru-dual is a direct bolt on for 00-02 f-bodies with stock manifolds and cats. with one minor weld, it'll fit 98-99 fbodies with stock manifolds and cats. goes all the way out the back. click the pink banner and the 00 formula link for pics.

aluminized is 799.00
stainless is 949.00

I'd imagine Vinci is selling them. Hince the price listed there..

I'm going to agree with tim on this, dont go with TDs untill you have LTs. And a set of highflow cats will not kill HP much at all, maybe a couple hp, nothing big. I do think TDs are the way to go, but not until you have a set of LTs to compliment them. That is unless you want to stay with manifolds and the bassani setup.......

you have to call them for the aluminized price. with minor modifying to the front lead pipes to the x-pipe, you can make it fit any header combination. i did it when i put the bassani on the wife's car that has bassani headers and hi-flow cats.

so, just like it did, buy the duals now, then modify to fit the headers when it's time. only have to buy the exhaust system once.
