I never put foam underneath my lsx intake and everything seems to be fine. Don't forget to use the valley cover bolts that Fast provides with the intake. Failure to do so can/will result in a cracked intake. I put some RTV around where the map sensor goes in the intake to prevent any leaks.

On your car you should have a "U" shaped PCV/hose assembly that attaches from the Intake behind the TB on the passenger side and then to the valley cover. The LSX intake is wider at the TB area and I had to use a longer 11/32" hose that attaches to the valley cover from the PCV valve to make it fit properly.

I just put a breather on the valve cover port. No problems so far.
Also, I installed the "Home Depot" catch can mod on the valley port. I haven't caught any oil yet.
