Anyone done exhaust like this?
Im looking for a cheap but loud exhaust system that will also flow decently. Heres my thoughts:
I have a stock T/A so i figure i could cut out the original muffler and weld in some sort of Y piece and a glasspack in place going to the original dual outlet pipes. Summit sells a couple of glasspacks - purple hornies, their own version (part #630810), thrush, flowtech red hots, or i could go with a cheap sweet thunder.
Has anyone done this sort of setup and how so. Any pictures seen around the net? And what is the stock pipe size on the I-pipe, dual outlet pipes coming from the muffler, and the over-axle part.
I thought I could also put the y-piece in after the over-axle pipe and have one pipe basically a straight through and the other pipe bends horizontally across the car goes through the glasspack and out the driver side (similar to a borla setup)
Any ideas are welcome thanks guys. im looking to spend $150 or less. maybe $200 at the MAX.

i'd suggest you cut out the stock muffler, and replace it with straight pipe. add in a sweet thunder muffler.

Click on my sig pic, I have a page for the Dynomouth and the Borlamouth setups with pics and sound/video clips. These are based off of a mandrel-bent 3" catback though, which will flow better than the stock pipes.

a dynomouth/borla thing doesnt really work because that would involve cutting up my I-pipe AND welding in straight pipe where old muffler was. I figure i could just do what GMMG does and put in 2 sweet thunders or just 2 glasspacks for only $20 and have it connect up to some of existing pipe.
What kind of glasspack would you all recommend.

Either get two sweet thunders, or get two Dynomax bullets, those would be the cheapest route. You could also run Borla XR1s but those are on the expensive side.
We sell the Dynomax and Borla XR1 bullets here: http://www.eadperformance.com/catalo...Path=41_74_113

Whats wrong with a glasspack? Ive heard mostly just good things. And arent dynomax bullets pretty soft. Im looking for loud, cheap, and legal. I dont want to run just straight pipes or a cutout. cutouts cost the same as muffler anyway.

you want loud get some slp resnators that go on the loudmouth. those would be loud and cost about as much as 1 borla, or just a little less than the sweet thunders. i was going to do that but then i just got the loudmouth.

resonators cost ~$75. Sweet thunder Stainless cost ~$60. Dynomax muffler cost ~$35.
I think i might just have a shop build me a LM setup and buy a Dynomax bullet. Total cost would probly be $150 for labor
